I like every kind of music...these two recommends are fairly mellow.
Vienna Teng (incredibly beautiful voice)
Grey Eye Glances (these are a little peppier than Vienna, but still in a more mellow vein)

Oh, yeah; do you know a Jon Gnash? When I linked a thread from here to harmony-central, the guy with that name (or at least his moniker is Jon Gnash) asked if you were still here, and I replied saying I was pretty sure you were, thinking the moniker-name sounded familiar, and I asked if he was an ex-JW, but he must've already been gone for the day and I never got another reply.

this should give u a good mix of rock, hip-hop, and roots music
I don't know their music well, but I've like what I've heard of The Shins and Snow Patrol.

I'm into industrial music. VNV Nation is coming out with a new album soon, and what I've heard from it is great. I highly reccomend them. It's industrial, but it doesn't adhere to the whole shouting-german-men-in-gasmasks stereotype that Industrial has given itself. VNV Nation is actually very intelligent.
