question: since now only his brain and heart are functioning and he's on a feeding tube and he has lost conscienceness(sp?)......does that now put him in the same situation that shiavo was in???
Meaning he could live for another 15 years !!!!

The Vatican are saying he's alive, but there is no hope. Poor old man. I can rant about organised religion's faults at length, but right now he's an old man.
Support of silly doctrines can be put to rest tonight.
Hopefully he will pass as he wishes and in peace.
Oh, and Shiavo didn't have brain function in the sense I think you mean...
Just as the Catholics see the pope as a symbol of their religion, I see the pope as a symbol of ignorance. If it takes dying for the changing of the gods then I say "the sooner the better".

Some of you people are just plain malicious. Regards, Jaypeeto1
The poor old soul obviously know?s it his time to go.
He wished to stay where he called "home" so, I hope he goes peacefully....
Rest in peace Sir John Pope...
Countrygirl,
I agree with your sentiments.
So many people are saying what a nice guy the Pope is. Maybe he was an overall nice guy but this is the same Pope that made light of the thousands of child molestation coverups by Priests.
My main criticism of John Paul II, as a Catholic myself, is that he never exercised any discipline in the church during his entire 26 year pontificate. Regards, Jaypeeto
I have a lot of respect for this Pope. He's an old man, he looks so tired, have some compassion.
I agree with this. He has always had my respect for the human being he was.
i'd rather have had dave allen as pope!
