It is really sad,,you would think that an organization that feels the end of all pain sickness and death is just around the corner to turn out such unimportant drivel,,at such a critical time in all human existance,,according to them they should be swimming in new light,, as God proves to the world that they are his witnesses. That the WT alone has been a beacon of light to the world from God himself. Yeah right!!!!

Come on guys/gals...what are you doing better before you condemn? It must justify your own position, or something like that.
Well, after trying the WTS's 4-year-of-reading-the-Awake!-is-the-same-as-a-college-degree approach to life for 25 years and finding myself going absolutely NOWHERE, I tried going to a real college and getting a real education. Guess what happened?? I got a real career, one that pays real well, that allows me to really do right by my family, instead of one that disempowers me into hanging onto the false hope that's dished out at the KH by the WTS.

If I had over 6 million drones who were willing to be my unpaid distributers of free literature I'm sure I could come up something worth reading. Certainly something that had more depth than the Awake! magazine. I could write articles on boolean algebra, variable subnetting, IP packet filtering and network protocol analysis. I doubt I could provide many pretty color pictures. I'm not much of an artist, and it's been a while since I've tried fingerpainting. I would gladly accept donations. Walter

I've always thought they did the awake so the dubs wouldn't look to any other sources for leisure reading. If they are going to control everything their followers read, they better come up with fluff, too. Otherwise, somebody might be tempted to read something forbidden. Plus, they've got to keep them really busy. Ever actually tried keeping up with all their magazines? Did you have any time for anything else?

Well, it took my only 1/2 hour to read the latest Awake. Not bad when you consider that is only once a month. "all their magazines"?? Not anymore! Their mags are a joke. "Spiritual food at the proper time" WHERE? I get more spirituality reading Maxim or Cosmo than the Awake.
