So my mother suprised me about a week ago by telling me we are going on a bus trip to Bethel from April 13-17. For those of you who aren't used to this concept, American Dubs seem to think that packing themselves on the bus with 60 other witnesses and driving for 4 days is somehow going to strengthen themselves spiritually.

Well, I doubt that will work for me.

I was just wondering, is there anything I should look for/ be on the alert for? Any tips/advice/methods for dealing with over zealous dubs hopped on Jehovah Juice?

    Thanks a million.

Just thinking about it puts me in a nasty mood. When I was a JW I could barely tolerate a couple of hours with just a handfull of them. I can't imagine 4 days of it. You have my sympathy.

if you're going to Wallkill, take as many pictures of the dining room/kitchen/waiters and send them to me. seriously. i used to work out there and i wonder how many of the guys i worked with are still there (probably not many...). i was thinking about taking a tour myself, but i have a feeling that might not turn out so well.

there;s nothing really all that interesting to tell you to look for on the tour. it's pretty dull from what i remember. they don't show you the game rooms with the pool tables and ping pong tables or the gym. that's probably the most interesting thing out there. the pool is pretty nice but i don't think they bring the tours out there (there may be some of the gorgeous bethel wives out sunning themselves...)

Look in the garbage cans. They should be overflowing with empty booze bottles.

You just have to realize that these people are not any different from people who make pilgrimages to Mecca or Jerusalem, etc. This may insult them but that is what I believe. There is a similarity.

They feel (at differing levels) that this is a holy place. The only difference is that they are not getting down on their knees and doing any rituals or lighting any candles!!

Print up a bunch of little piece of paper that say things like:

    www.jehovahs-witnesses.com

    or

    www.feeminds.com

    or

    quotes.watchtower.ca

    etc...

And leave the little pieces all over the place... on tables, on chairs, on the floor, etc...

Screen-print a T-shirt for the occasion that says, "607 BCE?" on one side and says, "NGO Affiliate to the Image of the Wild Beast/DPI" on the other.

You know, as an ice-breaker/conversation starter.

Watch for some gung-ho elder to arrange to have all the studies conducted on the bus. He gets to count the time and you are a captive audience. Have funon your Bethel trip. I can't think of anywere I would rather be...

All I can remember when I went to Bethel for a tour....was that the people who were working didn't seem happy! (Maybe it's b/c they see so many people come through there)
