You press the blue button. That enables the first laser force field. Then you go upstairs to that secret room and crawl down the area revealed by the cabinet. That bypasses the first force field and gets you to the soda machine.
BTW, I'm now in Level 13. :))
Okay, it's going on two in the morning, which is going to give me 7 hours of sleep in two days. I give up. I went through all the motions again and can't figure it out for the life of me. Thanks for your time though.
I don't understand what this chess color puzzle machine is supposed to do.
You can go to bed and try it again in the morning. You are so close. Let us know why you couldn't get it to work. The blue button should restore the first force field. Did that not work? Then go upstairs and back to the room with the lamp, rug, and cabinet and go down the secret passage. You should be able to go down this passage if you had revealed the hidden staircase in the computer room in the second laser area.

Leolaila, thank you so very much. I surprised myself last night by getting completely frustrated over this. I'm not a person who gets frustrated easily, and today I'm still trying to figure out WHY it frustrates me so much. I think part of it is that I have tons of work to do and shouldn't be spending my time playing games (although I enjoy games).
I've avoided to click on the link today. I have a half hour before making dinner right now, will go to the game and see what I can do. I'll keep you informed. (unless I smash my computer, then I'll have to wait to tell you how it went until I have a new computer of course)
The mistake that I was making over and over again was that I never saw that the locker could move. I revealed one end of the secret passage in the computer room, but didn't reveal the end that was blocked by the locker, that's why I couldn't get to the soda machine. I figured out how to disable the laser field in front of the door, but now the $%#&@ door is locked and I don't have a key. I guess I'll start from the beginning of this level to see if I can find a key somewhere.

Sigh, this IS going to cause me a heart attack. I need to get this over with. Okay leolaila and misspeaches... this is what I have.
(level 13),
Outside, I have taken water out of the well and extinguished the fire in front of the little door, but don't know how to open the door yet.
The dove, which flew out of a room upstairs, is sitting on a piece of rope.
Downstairs, I have no idea what to do with that machine.
On floor B, there are 4 pictures, they seem to give a hint to a color combination, which I assume has to be used in by the machine downstairs, but I don't know how.
I have noticed that whenever I log off and then on again and start level 13 over, the paintings on floor B change. Sometimes it gives the color blue for north, sometimes it gives the color green for north, etc..
I've paid attention to the north and south colors, ligning them up in the machine downstairs, but that doesn't seem to solve anything.
Help??
it's 2 in the morning again, and I'm off to bed..
