Seeing the pretentiousness of it all---the meetings, the BETHELITES, the GB, etc. makes it IMPOOSIBLE to EVER go back.

i went to a Special Meeting that showed slide shows. They were from some african country (husband & wife)...it was not interesting at all !!! It was a waste of 2 hours on a saturday night!

I used to get so mad with my teenage kids when they would slouch, yawn loudly or roll their eyes
The thing was I was as bored as them. I really, really tried not to be. I pre studied, concentrated hard but to no avail I hated meetings.
But i had no one to blame but myself no one made me go, was I grazy or what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Growing up and being about an an hour and a half drive from Bethel with several ex-Bethelites as elders, we used to get a lot of "special" talks.
Having them give the regular Sunday talk was fine but sometimes they added the "Saturday Night" talk which was never fun.
