Alright. It is done.

Last night during the announcements a new ministerial servant was appointed along with a new elder. Yippee!!

Also, I was deleted from the elder body. Double Yiiipppeee!!!

Of course I won't be getting my KM as early now. I am interested to hear whatever gossip is going around about me, but I set everything up pretty well for quite some time. Everyone knows how sickly I am don't ya know .

Anyway, please don't treat me any differently than before. I'm still your brother, but I'm very ill and need time to take it easy and focus on my health.

The only thing I'll miss is getting my KM early, reading all the letters from the society and going to the elder meeting with the CO to hear the new issues confronting the friends. I'll miss it because I'm nosey not because I really care .

Alright, I will also miss being a moderate voice during committee meetings and discussing appointments. Hopefully some other brother will pick up my torture stake and carry on.

I think you have a bumpy ride ahead of you. You are among freinds here. Friends who have been there; done that. WE will not shun you.

The first step ( which you have taken) is the hardest and most important. The world and your life is now literally your oyster and can be anything you wish to make of it. A blank canvas waiting for you to begin anew.

Suggest you find someone to talk to; like a therapist, to help you find your way through the road ahead. It will not be easy; but has been and can be done.

Don't you know that there's hardly anything a Body of Elders TM hates more than one of their own who is always moderate and reasonable??

On some level, I'd be feeling a bit worried about how the remaining elders will eventually brutalize the congregation in my absence. That's one of the burdens of leaving while knowing that you are the voice of calm and reason in a group of unreasonable facists and extremists.
