Blues,
I must ask how old were you? I know lots of Jo Ho's that were made elders at 28, 29, 30 years of age. They also tended to elevate "brothers" that were pioneers and what not even earlier. These brothers had parents that supported them financially. They married the right Dub at 18 or 19. They truly hadn't been tested by fire. They had not had any personal crisis's of their own. It's easy to be judgemental when you have no concept of certain things.
I remember a BOE that counseled a friend of mine. They told him that since he could only come to the district assembly for 2 days he needed to "man up" and tell his employer he was going to go regardless of whether they would give him time off. So he got fired from his job.... had huge financial difficulites to find a new job and support his family....think the BOE was around to help him? NO!!! They then had the nerve to say that he needed to trust in Jehoba and he would provide.
Thought it was about time I spill my guts...

I have lost my real mom as a friend, but there is always a silver lining...
Daniel's mom has been sooo supportive and wonderful. She has really taken me under her wing.. I talk to her more than Daniel does!!
She has become my "hiding place from the wind and a place of concealment from the rainstorm, like streams of water in a waterless country, like the shadow of a heavy crag in an exhausted land" (Isaiah 32:2)

Thank you for sharing your story Krystal. Life can be painful at times. It's stories like yours that have made me determined to be there for my family in their times of need.

Krystal, it was good for you to write that all out. I think it will help deal with the past. Now, however, you are looking to the future and this is a great attitude to have. I lost a girl I loved because I dedicated my life to a mind controlling cult. I haven't seen her for 8 years and I think about her every day. However, I have found solice at JWD and I think you will too. It's good to tell your story. It's part of the reconciliation process. Good luck with your future!
