lol, infamous,
hey man, i have a drunken acoustic version of song 15, life without end at last. best of all: recorded when i was still a jay dub. sounds like tom waits and a bunch of drunk friends found a songbook in a ditch somewhere, and decided to get blasted, and crack dirty jokes, and try to sing it, and record the whole thing. hehe...
i get a lot of free time in my job, and it was all cloudy yesterday. i found myself singing:
"dark days are here. men filled with fear. in dire expectation, blah blah all creation.
...but the bible holds out a hope for the dead (chrip chirp), blah blah blah blah blah blah, blah blah blah blah blah."
couldn't remember all the lyrics, but the tune will be with me until the day i die, lol.

Frank Sinatra's "New York, New York" did it for me.
Especially the ending .... "if I can make it here, I'll make it ... da da .. anywhere .. it's up to you, New York, New York ... da da da da .....

Eulogy He had alot to say. He had alot of nothing to say. We'll miss him. So long. We wish you well. You told us how you weren't afraid to die. Well then, so long. Don't cry. Or feel too down. Not all martyrs see divinity. But at least you tried. Standing above the crowd he had a voice that was strong and loud. We'll miss him. Ranting and pointing his finger at everything but his heart. We'll miss him. No way to recall what it was that you had said to me, Like I care at all. So loud. You sure could yell. You took a stand on every little thing and so loud. Standing above the crowd, he had a voice so strong and loud and I swallowed his façade cuz I'm so eager to identify with someone above the ground, someone who seemed to feel the same, someone prepared to lead the way, with someone who would die for me. Will you? Will you now? Would you die for me? Don't you f##kin' lie. Don't you step out of line. Don't you f##kin lie. You've claimed all this time that you would die for me. Why then are you so surprised to hear your own eulogy? You had alot to say. You had alot of nothing to say. Come down. Get off your f##kin cross. We need the f##kin space to nail the next fool up. To ascend you must die. You must be crucified. For your sins and your lies. Goodbye.

Opiate Choices always were a problem for you. What you need is someone strong to guide you. Deaf and blind and dumb and born to follow, what you need is someone strong to use you.. like me, like me. If you want to get your soul to heaven, trust in me .Don't judge or question. You are broken now, but faith can heal you. Just do everything I tell you to do. Deaf and blind and dumb and born to follow. Let me lay my holy hand upon you. My Gods will becomes me. When he speaks out, he speaks through me. He has needs like I do. We both want to rape you. Jesus Christ, why don't you come save my life. Open my eyes and blind me with your light and your lies.

It's Gonna Be (Alright) by Ween
Baby what have I done
Gone and left you all alone
It's hard for me to sing this song
we've been together for so long
Ithink I know what my soul's got to say
and it wont hurt as bad someday
it's gonna be alright baby
it's gonna be alright love
and if the mist ever lets the sun through
I'll just hope I did the right thing
for me and you
Guess I'm ruled by my heart
Built a life and i tore it all apart
it's just not our time
but you'll find a new love
and you'll be fine
so many dark and lonely nights
but i believe one day I'll see the light
It's gonna be alright baby
it's gonna be alright love
and if the mist ever lets the sun through
I'll just hope I did the right thing for me and you.
When I read your piece on breaking up with Jah, This song came immediately to mind.

How about Its the End of the World by REM? I always prefered that to the downer of Losing My Religion. Pride by U2 because while they may have taken the first part of my life they didn't take my pride. Wounded by Third Eye Blind Life Wasted by Pearl Jam Rocket by Smashing Pumpkins and as long as people are quoting Dylan then Masters of War (not even Jesus could forgive the things that you do) I don't know, I never really cared for the songs pining away for the past because while, yes, the past may have sucked, the future looks pretty rosy from where I'm sitting.
