t here are some sisters in my congregation, who, with a hand full of coupons, could get us out of there for under $2000.

    Richie you crack me up.

Actually, I think the rent at the assembly halls is calculated using a "head-tax" of $X dollars per publisher per day.

for henrietta, ny assembly hall it was something like $12 -15 per publisher per day. The place is literally a gold-mine!

    Hello Silentwatcher,

    What you describe:

sounds more like their procedure for resolving circuit deficits. The congregations are usually assessed the amount of the deficit by the number of publishers they have of the circuit total. But I have been out of the loop for about four years now. Maybe they are doing things differently.

Then they always have to spent 2 to 5 hundred on plants to decorate the stage.

Here's an idea: buy some nice-looking FAKE plants and leave them on the stage year round......that'd save a fortune right there.

As evil force mentioned there are CO and DO expenses. This is a two week expense because the DO spends a week with the CO (scrutiny time for the CO) before the assembly week. Then whatever extra expenses the CO has incurred since the last assembly must be covered, such as insurance, new tires, etc. Many circuits now provide apartments for CO's. Even if it is in a KH, that KH will usually receive compensation from the circuit since it is a circuit expense. This too is covered by the income from circuit assemblies.

What the hell?? Why isn't Bethel covering these expenses?? After all, it's not like the R&F Witness actually ASKED either the CO or the DO to show up and yell about how ungrateful everybody is............what a bunch of crap.......thank god I don't give anything anymore.........wonder if they ever regret getting rid of Food Services.....that was their bread and butter!

Hmmm... maybe your right. I remember they used to read letters stating that expenses were calculated that way.

But that's ignoring the real cash cow, and the real reason for these events: the $3000-4000 donation generated at every assembly day.

Yes, that is the real reason, and what if they did not meet the amount to even break even after that donation. They would have to stop making those donations. What would the society do if those donations to the WWW stop and only assembly expenses are covered? They would stop the assemblies. Close the unprofitable stores, like any other business. The blessings of a bad economy.
