I intend to continue witnessing (what some on here may describe as anti-witnessing) But in my view anti-witnessing is the work of the anti-christ which includes the Watchtower.

    Here's yer chance to edit..

Interesting, I'm not so sure that I would disagree with you. I certainly don't believe that only Christians can have eternal life. In any case I still have some doubts about what I believe.

What christians fail to know is that all have everlasting life. And judgement is carries out by the person/soul/spirit on itself. So, a positive thinking, good person is on an even standing w a positive thinking, good christian. There goes the christian exclusivity. 'Course, that's just my opinion.

So you mean I have to have a positive attitude? I'm screwed!

Thanks for explaining what I meant so succinctly

As for getting baptised, I've been baptised twice, once as a Roman Catholic baby, then at 15 years old by immersion.

    Thanks again.

Some confusion here. Really there are Two (2) groups.

    1. Jehovah's Witnesses (Also known as the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses and

    2. Jehovah's Christian Witnesses.

These two groups are not the same and have different teachings. Note: #2 created their name so as to be listed above #1 in the phone book. So visiting brothers or ones moving into a new area just might call the first number instead and are caught in a trap.

You scared me with the title of your post but then I got it once I read the body... Held my breath for a moment though. Interesting concept you have come up with.

I personally think I currently prefer to consider myself a Christian Witness of Yahweh.

I just went to church for the first time in a long time the other day (hadn't gone since 1998 when I started studying with JWs). It was surprisingly great! I was happy to partake of the emblems and sad that I had missed out all those years on being able to worship God freely in my own personal way and at the same time with a group of Christians. It was obvious that everyone there had his/her own personal views when it comes to "truth" and yet they all worshipped in harmony sharing their mutual love and appreciation for God and for Jesus. No doctrines being crammed down their throats, no hatred of the world, no bashing of other religions, no shunned people, there were even plans for a faith share where all the neighboring churches were going to get together for the greater good. There were classrooms for all the different grade levels so the children could associate with eachother and be taught at their own pace and level.

Anyways, I'm babbling... My point was that the pastor kept using God's name, Yahweh, during his sermon. I found it surprising and refreshing. Below is an interesting read regarding the use of Jehovah vs. the use of Yahweh. Let me know what you think of it if it peaks your interest.

Hope I didn't hijack your thread I always enjoy reading your posts and your comments. You have proven yourself a true friend to those in need of spiritual help and you are an intelligent person. I am glad you have had your own interest in Christianity peaked by the whole experience.

    hello and welcome inbyathread

I don't believe jaffacake is associating himself with a particular group but more with the concept of witnessing for the true God whom he now feels can be addressed with the name Jehovah. He chooses to witness for Christianity, which includes helping Jehovah's Witnesses to understand that they are not in fact Christians worshipping the true God. They are actually worshipping the Governing Body/WTBTS.

to make the point that it is impossible to be a Witness of Jehovah inside the Watchtower organisation. That religion, despite the lovely people in it, is certainly not Christianity.

Let everyone in agreemant say, "Amen".

    ***** 5 billion + humans ******* AMEN, AMEN

Lady Lee - I never had all my marbles!

Inbyathread - I didn't realise there was such a second group. However, I believe CT Russell was right about no need for an earthly organisation. My guess is the second group are Christians wheras the first idolise men in New York - am I right? Adelmaal - Thank you. I agree with you about Yahweh being more accurate, I'll read the article tomorrow as I'm off to bed now. What denomination of church did you visit? I haven't been to one for a while - I don't feel right in the catholic church my kids go to. I am moved by your kind words. I have copied some of your posts which one day I may be able to use to witness to my beloved friends.
