Plenty of rest and food, to give your body the resources to finght it. Vitamins, especially "C" help some.
Unfortunately it has to run it's course, so the best you can do is drug yourself up to alleviate the symptoms.
Vicks Sinex, for the nasals, and paracetemol for the sore head.
If it develops into a cough, then cough medicine, too (Sudafed is pretty effective, and Buttercup Syrup isn't at all bad).
The advice to avoid work, so that you don't spread it to other staff and patrients, is a good one.
There's quite an epidemic of it, at the moment, and it seems to be a hardy variety.
Between that, flu, and Winter vomitting bug, we had a ward closed this Winter.
Codral works best for me. But I find that using a seperate nasal spray and a throat lolly, like Difflam, on top of the cold and flu tabs can make it much more bearable. And flus can be fatal don't listen to your ditsy co-workers; take it seriously!
You just might need another enema.
Use a pair of tweezers on it but be sure to have plenty of clean towels nearby 'just in case'.

And I'm sure minimus will volunteer to administer it to you. Get better soon scoobysnax!!
Hot Bourbon with some honey and lemon. The warm bourbon will clear your sinuses and after a few you'll feel great.
The best thing for me is an herbal blend of Fenugreek and Thyme. You can pick it up in most health food stores and even the major grocery chains in the US carry it now. I take three capsules with breakfast, lunch and dinner. Clears up my breathing pretty quickly, and also works well for allergy season. For me, it's better than the prescription stuff... Takes about a day to completely kick the cold...

Echinacea tablets (vitamins) the best preventative, and the best cure in my opinion. Otherwise just lots of fluids, hot lemon in water, with honey. Lot's of r&r, and trashy day-time soapies will inspire to get you better real quick. Cheer up:-)
Boots sell a steam inhaler mask which is much more effective than sticking your head over a bowl of hot water, and works VERY well with a couple of drops of Olbas Oil in the water.
Of course, you will know that paracetamol will relieve pain, and Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride is a useful decongestant, and don't pay for brand names, buy a generic.
Dragging yourself into work to spread the infection isn't heroic, it's stupid. Rest.
That is my prescription.
