Yep, I too love to see the Lancaster when it makes one of it's very infrequent flights. I think there are only 3 flying now.
I understand it was originally designed as a 2 engined bomber, known as the "Manchester", until some bright spark had the idea of fitting it up with 4 Spitfire engines. Thus was born the mighty Lanc!

I think it's impressive, but the Canadian news reported that airports here would likely have to expand, in order to have enough room for it to land and they don't think too many airports will do that. Too costly. And I don't know how they'd accomodate a jet that big at Pearson Internt'l, they'd have to use more than one runway which would cause congestion.....Hmmm, I also thought as upside/down did tho', big target...

it will keep Boeing on their toes if nothing else - believe it or not, quite afew Americn Aircraft have Rolls Royce engines including the legendary RB211 - I thought thta stood for Rolls Barnoldswick and thus manufactured in East Lancashire

I think the plane is cool. High speed internet and a bar / lounge? Cool way to meet people, get work done and pass time, especially if the flight is from the Americas to Europe. Probably will be many more members of the "mile high club." lol

Airbus A380? HAHAHAHHAHHHHHHHAAAAA!!!! Have you seen this thing? That thing will NEVER fly. It's bloated structure would fall out of the sky like a lead zeppilin! It's merely a trojan to frighten the United States government into line.

Agreed bigger isn't always better, but I guess we have to be impressed by the ability to so efficiently keep such a craft in the sky...I suppose more passengers per plane means fewer jet streams (which is good for the enviro), or does it mean more efficiency so greater demand, so more jet streams?
