I'm simply pointing out the "extra-legal" means that are taken against individuals. What it comes down to is your individual family situation. If your family ignores the shunning mandate, then whether you are DFed or not is irrelavent. If they don't, then likely they would shun you if the elders told them to anyway. Those are cold, hard FACTS. I thought you were logical and liked cold hard FACTS.

I've known faders who get shunned as if they were DFed and I've seen DFed ones whose family acts as if nothing happens. It's roll of the dice.

My my. And here I thought you were astute. Did I not say about your previous post, "your points are well taken"? Apparently you have a serious reading comprehension problem, since the further things you said, apparently in rebuttal to what I did not say, I had already said in previous posts.

Jesus Christ! It just dawned on me what I typed: "silentWatchtower "! It certainly was not my intention to stick "tow" in there! I certainly didn't mean to. All I can think is that years of typing "Watchtower" somehow automatically got translated into finger movements. I didn't notice this at all when I posted my last irritated reply. In any case, please accept my apologies, because that was not my intent. My intent with my post was to acknowledge your good points, and note that they, in conjunction with mine and others', show the difficulties of coming to definite conclusions on this subject, i.e., it's a gray area.

I'm glad that you're no more a Watchtower Sympathizer than I am. I wish only evil on that corrupt organization, for all the bad that it's done to good people.

OK - we're now at around a month since the elders invited me to a judicial meeting, and I wrote that 10-page letter in response, threatening personal lawsuits against the body.

Not one word from them. Maybe this will work.

Nothing has happened at this point. Two months or more since I was invited to a judicial committee meeting.

Maybe I should publish the letter I wrote to the elders, edited, but out there all the same.

Anyone interested in reading what I wrote that got a judicial committee to back off from disfellowshiping me? They certainly had grounds.
