Sex, heavy petting , smoking. as far as I know these are the major ones Im sure there are plenty more
In our case, it was respectivefully asking questions such as - United Nations involvement and failed prophecies. We never rec'd a reply from either the London Bethel or the Elders in the congregation who promised they would look into the matters raised. We eventually told them that we no longer wished to be know as JWs, (as they would not answer any of our questions) within a short period of time - they sent us a letter signed by three elders. Now everyone shuns us. We only asked questions!!!!!!. By the way, we had been JWs for over thirty years (each 0f us)

unrepentance
dh...not true..(unless you were being ironic in which case good one)

It just shows how they can't deal with an open enquiry.
All that time spent through your life and then they let you down in this way - typical bunch of control freaks.
unrepentance--actually that is the WTS spin on it--it doesn't matter what the sin, but the lack of repentance as judged by the elders on the JC. Of course, we know that don't have the smarts for that.
So
Adultery--judged repentant by the JC elders, will lead to private mostly likely public reproof
Adultery--judged unrepentant by the JC elders, will lead to DFing

All it takes for a JW to be disfellowshipped is for three elders to agree that he/she should be disfellowshipped. Specific acts, repentance, etc. are essentially irrelevant.

nooooo....all it takes is for TWO elders to agree...the other one is out voted...to think that 2 people who dont know/like you can in effect have complete control over your life..(if you let them) it just beggers belief
You can be expelled for disagreeing with any of their major dogmas, they call it apostasy, eg accepting and worshipping Christ as God can earn you an expulsion since to them He is just a king and chief priest a creature and not a God.Smoking cigarettes also gets you out.
There are also many things for which you can get marked as inferior and potentially dangerous to the spirituality of the group which means you will be shut off to a great extend but not completely, you are quasi disfellowshipped, marginalised.
