I generally let the rain wash mine. I hear that there is sometimes acid in it. Whatever. At least it's free.

I doubt if your car wash scammer paid for the second wash out of his own pocket. Most car washes have a guarantee - if your car isn't clean, they run it through again. He probably just keyed in the code for a rewash.

About a month ago, I went to a different car wash than I usually use. I had to go into a convenience store to pay for it, and the man asked me which one I wanted. I said I didn't know, and he said "just get the cheap one.............they're all the same". I was surprised but thanked him for telling me and I got the cheapest one.
I had the car serviced last week and when I picked it up, they had washed it and vacuumed inside. Hooray for the Toyota dealership!
