don;t think we do baby showers in the Uk although it could be catching on. AS for a bridal shower - what on earth is that? Is it like an engagement party?
the party takes place prior to the wedding where the bride receives gifts from the attendees, usually there is cake and food and music. the ones I used to go to were surprise parties
Oh, she was also counselled because the names of the people giving the gifts were read.
BTW, she has been to very few meetings since.

Crumpet: we have bridal showers here in the US. because most congos don't allow bachelorette parties. So all the naughty gifts are given at the bridal shower.
I have never been to a bridal shower or a baby shower that didn't have games though. That's weird that they would say anything. Someone got their panties twisted.

I was active for 30 years, and every baby shower I ever went to anywhere in the the USA for JW's had games. The Elders there must really be creep as_ho_es. That is just plain nuts. They are going beyond what is written of course. She could write the society about this, there is nothing in the literature about not having games at bridal or baby showers.
That nonsense about not putting the names of the giver on the gifts is just so stupid. When I had a baby shower with my first. I recieved many gifts and couldn't even send out thank you notes because no one would put their name on the gifts, I found this irritating. How could I thank everyone. I eventually sent a general thank you card to all who participated in the baby shower to the Hall and they posted it.
Maybe your daughter in law will not wish to attend meetings anymore because of this.
Perhaps the fondling of a nursing pad, which would in turn touch the breast at some point, could be considered porneia. LOL

Well.....are you not aware? ..... Surely, you are encouraging COMPETITION with the games such as collecting clothespins from those you catch crossing their legs.
I was always afraid if I didn't cross my legs, I wouldn't sit lady like enough and someone could look up my skirt. I hated that clothes pin game.
However, I won it several times.
Sisters around here play silly ass games at showers. Toilet paper bride... Some others that I cant think of right now.
The brothers couldnt give a shizit less about what the sisters do during showers cuz at least they are out of our hair for a few hours.
Fix this leak, paint the house, clean out the garage, you drink too much... blah,,, blah, blah, blah,, blah
