lol @ Tenacious D!
Maybe I am too picky. But all I'm asking for is the best sound quality and that I'm not restricted to where I can listen to the music. Is that too much to ask? :P

pleasuredome i dont have enough knowledge of this stuff to give you an accurate rating of the standard...to me the computer is like the john logie baird of tvs...if it does what i ask it to do then i get excited...on saying that though i have a number of music players around the house and the sound from the comp is about 2nd best to my linn hifi...i have jbl speakers and subwoofer..the ones that look like darth vader..and they sound great..but in all truth im doing other stuff whilst on puter so concentrating on sound quality is not highest priority.....i do remember reading i think that msn do not use mp3 format and that means i cant download to my phone..and if im right about that then its because they use a better format though for the life of me i do not know what it is....hope that answers your question

The reason MP3 is not supported by online music stores is because it doesn't have DRM (digital rights management -- a fancy term for copy protection). It's not really because other formats are "better."
I like MP3 because it is supported by everything. Sure, some of the newer formats can sound just as good as MP3 while using a lower bitrate, but that's not a huge deal IMO.

Whatever works for you. Sounds limiting. I just want noise. Usually, around here, noise is not a problem.

I don't have it - but have several friends/co-workers who do - it's an awesome service. If I ever get a computer that wasn't built by the good people of Fisher Price, and internet connection faster than Woodpecker 2.0 Dial-up...I would so get it.
