LOL @ Mickey pond! Click on the regular map (instead of satellite) and the pond looks nothing like Mickey.

BTW, $10 to the first person who can calculate the altitude of that jet based on the distance from the shadow. I suppose it would be helpful to know the angle of the sun and the angle of the satellite relative to the jet. :P

    Google images! Who knew??

Thanks, Elsie. My hubby and I just killed two and a half hours looking up all kinds of places with this thing from Washington DC to Seattle Washington. Very interesting...

PopeofEruke....LOL, way too tiny for me to tell (can you even tell on the outside?)!! P&W is more likely found on United planes and RR more likely to be found on AA planes, but other than that...

OK, we may not be able to get the altitude of the jet from the picture, but we may well be able to get the angle of the sun from the picture. If we can calculate the distance of the plane from the end of the runway it likely took off at, then calculate in the standard rate of climb using Pythagoras's theory.

hehe... If someone could do this, it would rock. Thoughts?

In comparison to the lively activity and grandeur of your city so readily apparent here, the airplane is truly amazing.
