I came to this site with a heart for God. I saw the name of the site and against the wishes of my family I decided that I was going to do some ?New World Translation? burning. If I have been mistaken by the intention of this forum I apologize, but please hear my story.

I have in recent months been called by my Father God to research various cults that are operating in the world today, This has included the following.

    • Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society
    • Church of Jesus Christ and the Later Day Saints
    • Seven Day Adventist
    • Roman Catholics
    • Islam
    • Church of Christ, Scientists

What I have been finding has been shocking, and the two that stand out the most as the greatest evils are the JW?s and The Catholics. I am not here to try convert people to my religion but rather on a compulsion that something has to be done. I do believe that even though you are a recovering JW forum that you all defend the JW?s and the Bible states that if you are not for God then you are against him. I have not once made up any thing about the JW?s but rather have worked off fact (greatly researched) and that has seemed to offend you all greatly. I also have to say that the only way to get away from a cult is to repent your sins, and receive the atonement offered by God through his son Jesus Christ.

I do believe you read a total of zero (0) posts before determining what most posters here feel toward the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society.

Now if you are talking about JWs as individuals, I think most people here view them as basically good folks who are twisted and perverted in their minds by an extremely high-control and manipulative corporation. So you might see indication here of people defending JWs as individuals, but you will not see very many posters at all attempting to defend the organization.

Your prejudice is showing. Do you understand? This is a Web site that offers free exchange of ideas. That concept is directly antithetical to everything JWs teach. As an example of the kind of critical analysis going on in here, take a look at this link: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/10/89803/1.ashx

One of our regular posters, blondie, voluntarily undertakes a weekly chore of reading, critically analyzing, and posting either the entire Watchtower article or a large portion of the article being studied each week. If you have ever read a Watchtower article, then you understand the mental and emotional anguish she willingly goes through to help others understand what the WTS is really all about. Read that thread, which is typical of the mindset of most posters with regard to the information distributed by the WTS, then tell me if you believe we defend them.

If you wish to continue posting here, you are WELCOME!!!

However, if you keep the approach of telling us what we believe instead of asking us, you are in for a very long and arduous uphill journey. Most of us are done with letting someone tell us what we believe.

    Respectfully,
    OldSoul

So true! Kingdoman, you need to surf around this site some more and READ. Barely anyone on this site defends JWs. Most of the (few) times I've seen anyone say ANYTHING in their defense is when they believe a something stated was untrue.

Before making assumptions and sweeping generalizations, at least read before you attack and criticize.

I take it your wife is the spelling bee champion who penned the article and not yourself then?

    (crumpet smells a plagiarist!)

and the Bible states that if you are not for God then you are against him.
I'll say a big fat allelujah to that! Definitely against!

I don't agree! The only way to get away from a cult: Free your mind. Learn to think independently. Start trusting in yourself!

What you mentioned would mean a new commitment.

    The arrogance and smugness...

    I noticed Born-twice wacko's wasn't on the list... why?

What brand of "christianity" (the most divisive and blood thirsty religion ever) do you hail from?

That's the first time I've ever heard the Roman Catholics or Islam refered to as a cult.
