IMAGINE, A MOVIE OR SERIES ABOUT A TYPICAL J.W. FAMILY !

  Imagine sitting in front of your t.v. with a beer and watching your favorite series or movie about a "typical" J.W. family?

  What would that be like?

  It could start by showing two witnesses knocking on the door of a suburban home, handing out their magazines.

  After each commercial it will go into a new "chapter"........

  Bible study, deceiving the new study with false doctrines.....

  Shunning ex-j.w. family and friends.......

  Do you think it will be a hit like "The Waltons", or "Leave it to Beaver" and run for 18 years?

  Someone let "Brookline" know, so they can start one a.s.a.p.

  Why don't some people from this forum get together and write a script . . .it could be done very' tongue in cheek', while telling the truth about ' the truth.' I think a TV series would have more of an impact.

  I think the mom and dad should play it completely deadpan, as if JW's actually live as they are portrayed in the magazines and the stage. The teenagers can show off the double life (turning it on and off when with and without the witnesses) and the double life of their parent's friends. The whole premise for sitcom humour is poor communication and heaven knows, the JW life is full of it.

  Have the teenage girl in a department store with her "worldly" boyfriend when she spots sister-busybody in the next aisle. The teenage boy can break out, crack his voice, AND encounter his phys-ed coach while going door-to-door.

  P.S. We could base ALL of the parent's lines from direct quotes from Watchtower magazines.

  jgnat . . .you're right, it would be the lack of communication among the JW family that would play into the essence of the story, except, of course, when they're discussing the Watchtower.

  It would be great showing the deep-thinking comments made during the Watchtower Study. I'm sure other religions would change their services right away in order to mimic the first-grade classroom JWs call "meat in due season." :)

  I don't know about a sitcom method though. hey always have a happy ending. I wonder if it'd make more of an impact as a drama. Cheesy as it sounds, maybe a Lifetime drama or something? Instead of making fun, actually showing the seriousness of the situation.
