What did you worry about when you were a JW? I worried about everything. But my biggest worry was my fear of PERSECUTION. After all the Malawi stuff and pictures of the great trib. in the magazines...since I was a little kid I was positively terrified of being physically persecuted. I'm talking nazi concentration type stuff. I KNEW I could never be faithful to Jehovah thru that. At the first hint of pain I'd yell...TO HELL WITH THE JW'S!!!

What did YOU worry about (or is it just me)?

I worried about the one thing that came true - that it wasn't the truth.

But yes I also worried about persecution toward my children. I had a plan - and it didn't include me or the persecutionist making it into the new system.

My biggest worry was my children being tortured and hurt. The fruit cakes ( elders ) would tell me that at the time of the end people would force us jws to deny Jah and torture our children to break us and no matter what pain our children faced we were never to deny jah because jah would never let a jw suffer more then they could handle. Ya we will see who suffers in the end.

    Me, too, HadEnuf.

I used to lay in bed, worrying that when they shoved the bicycle spokes in my calves (remember the Asleep! articles about Malawi?), I would not be able to endure the torture. That was a vivid reality for me, imagining how it would FEEL, I can still feel it as I am typing.

The accounts of folks being forced to stand for hours, pregnant women raped, beatings, really affected me. I was a little kid, just 7/8/9 yo.

Many, many times I have thought about how sick it was that the WTBTS promotes this type of fear in children. As an adult, it makes my blood boil if I dwell on it.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh Mr. Rat. Cheeseophobia...the fear of running out of cheese. Beerophobia...the fear of running out of beer. Cheesenbeerophobia...the fear of running out of beer while eating cheese. This is the stuff of nightmares.

kls & talesin: I can see I am not alone. It is so good to have that crap lifted off of one's shoulders.

confusedjw...I wonder what that plan was? That's what I needed...a plan. Sadly...I didn't have one.
