...annoy the h3ll outta me. My coworker, for example....a person whom I am sentenced to spend another 30 odd years sitting next to before I'm ~~parolled~~ able to retire. She giggles at EVERYTHING. She can carry on an entire giggle conversation:

Me: "I think I broke the stapler."

Her: <giggle>

Me: "There are 5 staples jammed in the opening."

Her: <giggle>

Me: "Do you have any idea how to get it unjammed?"

Her: "No." <giggle>

This can go on for hours, with her barely uttering any words and giggling like a toddler being tickled, even though there's nothing funny to laugh at.

It's probably a nervous reaction, like a facial tic. I know how irritating it is, though! Giggle buttons in girls get permanently jammed in the "on" position starting at age 11. Jennie had two of her friends over for dinner last night and I don't think I heard a coherent word all evening.

What happens when the giggle button is still stuck and the girl is now a woman in her late '30s? How do you unstick it?

My sons girlfriend is just like that and loud. She can't talk without screaming and giggles at anything and everything and drives me nuts

I too work with a girl with CGD, Chronic Giggling Disorder; and, like you, it became unbearable.

I thought up many ways to murder her and dispose of the body undetected; and just knowing I was planning in this way helped, for a while. But, I don't seem killer-material, so I had to think up another strategy.

I started to wear silly hats, and do things and say things that really made her laugh until the day we reached the goal: the day she giggled and laughed so hard she peed her pants.

Her and I speak very little now, but even one word would be more times than I have heard her giggle since.

Perhaps I should start a CGD recovery clinic. But, I probably don't have enough time; for if I interpret that look in her eye correctly, shes planning to murder me.

I knew a girl that was definitely suffering from CGD, and it was driving me mad. Everything I mentioned to her, and seriously, EVERYTHING was greeted with bouts of giggling. As an experiment I told her that I had just heard her house had been burned to the ground with her cat trapped inside. She screamed, "WHAT?!"

I giggled.
