Aren't there a few jw sites? Maybe not authorized by the gb though. Isn't Paradise Cafe pretty much jw? I thought I saw one where you had to know what song or something from the last week at the hall. I know I saw a dating service advertised that way. What could they discuss anyway? How much they all agree? carla

    Hello carla,

Aren't there a few jw sites? Maybe not authorized by the gb though.

Yes, there are quite a few. None are official and/ or authorized. In fact, when speaking with the service dept a few weeks ago on this topic, I was told that all those sites have at least one or two apostates that play the part of a jw very well, thus it is not recommended to even visit those sites as you can never be sure it is "all jws all the time".

Isn't Paradise Cafe pretty much jw?

E-Watchmans site (Paradise Cafe) is not all jws either; as is apparent after reading the entire site. Another possible snare.

I thought I saw one where you had to know what song or something from the last week at the hall.

Knowing the info needed to gain registry to these sites is not a hard feat. Many exjws know the litter-ature by heart and can easily answer what is needed.

I know I saw a dating service advertised that way.

One of those jw dating sites actually was shut down due to a jw meeting someone whom they thought was a jw too. The guy was able to play the part very well. A predator isn't always after sex. A very determined predator will do his homework and thus be able to fool anyone, especially jws whom think only jws are amongst them in cyberspace.

What could they discuss anyway? How much they all agree?

Well, ask yourself: If the www.watchtower.org site DID have available chat, discussion forum, email and a place to submit your testimony as a dedicated jw, would you post and chat there? Or seek out other sites, which the WTBTS strongly suggests, through it's litter-ature, against because you risk stumbling yourself and putting your spirituality in jeopardy? Not to mention, Jehovah watching your every click in cyberspace and judging your activity. Where would YOU chose to log into everyday? And would going ONLY to official WT site be enough to satisfy you?

It isn't so much about agreeing or disagreeing. It is about jws having a safe and official site to rely on. The reality though is that there is none.

So, when you google, then go to wt site, what is there that compels you to stay only there and go no where else...since no where else is official? Is it all the articles you've already read offline? Or the other food in due season? WHY WOULD A DEDICATED, LOYAL JW GO ANYWHERE ELSE??

carla, my hopes are that you and others will google 'til you just can't google no 'mo!

Take good care and happy trails!

Thank you for you comments all. Any others?

If one of us goes to the official site you can leave a measage but it has to be short, just click on the thing that says you would like a Bible study, and fill in the mandatory boxes not with your name and address, but with some statement or addy from some site like JWD.

Leaving a message and/ or requesting a bible study is not a discussion of what one is reading ON THE SITE. People read an item and then look for a link to a forum or chat to discuss or debate what they are reading ON THE SITE.

You can't do that on the official, all-knowing WTBTS site.

So the googler has no other options but to return to google and look for a place where they CAN do that. Well, we know where that is. And so does WTOrg.

It's only a matter of time before they crack down on jws internet activity. That day will be very interesting to WITNESS! What do you predict will happen?

    Sf,

It is a very delicate balance that is in place on the WT warnnings or outright ban on sites. They have already caused great curiousity among may JWs by thier strong warnings, and because of this many are leaving, they have shot themselves in the foot.

If they increase the warnning to an all out ban, this will be very conterproductive, causing a mass exodus the likes of which they have never seen far worse than the 1914 and 1925 failed predictions.

    We can only hope.

Thank you for sharing your predictions, as I asked here: It's only a matter of time before they crack down on jws internet activity. That day will be very interesting to WITNESS! What do you predict will happen?
