Where does the term "mince" come from? I have a friend in England who calls ground beef "mince"....is it anything to do with that? LOL

yes ground beef is mince..and very nice it is too
so how it came to have a negative connatation is beyond me
but then a lot of pants (both american or uk varieties) are nice
