Every religion has its converts and proponents. Likewise, every religion has its apostates and opponents. Islam is no different.

    Welcome Hussain.

Were you once involved with the Jehovah's Witnesses or are you just here to gain converts to your faith? I'm sorry for being skeptical of your motives but there are a lot of people that come here to do that.

Well, actually, yes, my aunt is a Jehova's Witness, and she did her share of "preaching" to us with the intention of winning her over to her faith.

So I guess I was a bit introduced to some of the things JWs say and do, although I am not sure whether all her actions would be deemed as appropriate by the JW.

Lol, she's not the only one. I know a lot of JWs like that, but also a lot of JWs who wouldn't dare step out of line.

    Welcome to the forum.

Well, I thought that was illegal in Saudi Arabia... I believe it is. I don't know of a single JW who would want to be martyred except by refusing a blood transfusion.

    Hmmmm, not so fast!

Over the years of my being a JW I encountered not a few who would have jumped at the chance to "die faithful" and go out in a blaze of Governing Body approved martyrdom.

My going to Federal Prison was certainly a mild form of martyrdom. I >>>could>>>have been killed (as far as I knew). My own thinking tended toward the dramatic at that time.

Witnesses all live in such fear of disapproval by elders and upper eschelon FDS that martyrdom is a relief to contemplate. The dying-at-Armageddon scenario they all live with creates a lot of anxiety and depression.

Don't underestimate the NEED to make belief real (after remaining for years in a delusional state) by creating an event that forces reality upon the illusion.

I honestly believe that is what the Watchtower Date-Setting disease is all about. They try to make something REAL happen by predicting it. The mind craves reality and living with make-believe day in and day out just won't cut it.

Jesus' love for me lead me completely OUT of religion, period.
