It's funny that every time I saw him on anything---I always thought of Ernest instead of his real name! I find it surprising that he was only "on" as Ernest T five times!!! I had trouble recalling his real name.
Always enjoyed him, I must say.

If you watch the credits of the Andy Griffith Show, he directed many of them. I don't know how many, but he must have been around the lot. My uncle worked the Desilu lot in the 50's and 60's and he told me stories about Lucy and Desi, especially Lucy, after her divorce from Desi in 1960. She ran the studio for many years until she sold it to Paramount. There's one episode where Andy and Barney are listening to the radio and they hear a radio program. It's definitely Howard Morris's voice.
There's also an episode of Star Trek which features the set of Andy Griffith. Go to www.mayberry.com and look for the link - there are photos of Captain Kirk walking around Mayberry. Talk about fun!
