Sharp dressed men, or thanks WTS.....

.....yeah thanks to all the men in my (past WTS) life!

I've recently started working for a big Department store and was hired to work in the Men's department. I've found that my years of being a JW has finally paid off because if there is one thing I learned being a JW is how sharp dressed men dress and yes some of those Elders could really put on the nines!

Raising three boys and my X who I shopped for their dress clothes for meetings really has given me the edge over some of the younger people I work with. I'm always the one my co-workers will turn to when a guy wants help picking out the right shirt, tie and pants or shirt and tie to go with a suit.

I'm finding it fun explaining to the guys why the would want pleated pants or be a better fit for flat front pants, I just steer clear of asking "are you dressed to the left or the right!" Anyway it's fun and I think I've found my niche there is something rewarding in seeing a guy come into the Men's Department with that "look" of confusion and leaving feeling happy about "his" choices, he,hee.....

Oh and who knew guys wear thongs? I love stocking the underwear department, so many choices so little ummm.......*coff*

So do any of you guys (or gals) have some stories or advise on sharp dressed men?

Okay bikerchic -- I usually wear pleated pants at the office, and I'm very liberal (on most things). Do I fit the profile of dressing to the left or right? :)

You call pleated pants liberal? When it comes to liberal dressing, Vancouver has a lot to teach everyone. It's one of the few cities I know of where almost everyone, excepts people working in banks or lawyer offices, wear khakis and a shirt, 'cause it's comfortable.

There were three types of male dressers.

The first were the typical cheap polyester suit types. What usually went with this ensemble was not so good hygiene. They also looked like they were at least ten years late for a dental appointment. They were low income but usually sincere. They could be older or somewhat young. This look is on the way out as no self-respecting guy there wants to look tacky.

The next type was the middle of the roader who dressed okay. Businesslike/conservative and not too tacky. In all fairness most of the men in recent years fell in this category. If someone looked really bad he would be spoken to. After a while he would clean up his act and start to look like the rest of the upwardly mobile ones there.

The last category was the super stylish one dressed expensively. Most common in a more well-to-do area.

Keep in mind that the guys running the show set the tone for everybody else.

No pink dress shirts or ties! I don't care that Donald Trump does it.

Also- Sharp creases and cuffs look sharp on someone who wants to look professional- but they require dry cleaning much more often.

No double breasted's and none of those boring one buttons- 2 buttons is ok on the 35 and up crowd but no self respecting man will walk out with less than three... five is ok if you're tall enough. And no zuit suits where the jacket comes Way down your leg. And non of those oriental looking- non lapel having things where just the collar stands up.... THATS UGLY
