The Beth Sarim goes to show how much out of touch with reality Rutherford (a delusional alcoholic)was, and how foolish it is to be in an organisation where his influence on its dogma and overall mindset is paramount.

Something really struck me while reading through the Beth-Sarim site.
In 1950 the WT states that Beth Sarim was built to be used by the faithful men of old upon their return to earth. True or false? Indeed, that is true.
In 1975 the JW yearbook makes it look as if the sole purpose of Beth Sarim was to provide a home for the ailing Rutherford. Is this statement true or false? Note that it is true as well. It is the only purpose Beth Sarim ever served.
So, this reminded me of something they printed in "The Bible, God's word or man's? We studied that book during the Tuesday book study a few years back, some might remember. In that book, they gave an example of how apparent contracdictions can both be correct. They relate the story of a woman who was killed in an accident. Some sources said that she had been thrown from a car after colliding with another car, and other sources said the woman had been hit by a bus. Apparently two different stories to describe one event.. which one is true? Then they go on to say that both are true. The woman was waiting for the bus and got hit by another bus while waiting. The ambulance which took her to the hospital collided with another vehicle and she got thrown out of the ambulance...
It figures that the WTS would come up with such a story. The story -of course- was written in the chapter "Does the bible contradict itself?" I think it really applies to the use of Beth Sarim. Should someone raise hell about Beth Sarim, I can picture the article in the watchtower... "Does the WTS contradict itself?" and then the above story written as the start of an article.
Like they say, when someone has an answer for everything, there is no sense in arguing, because it is a waste of time.

Thanks, Blondie for putting the link. For some reason my computer won't do it automatically. I have an apple so that may be why or I'm just too challenged to figure it out. Thanks, Lady Lee for putting the link to Farkel's work. I always enjoy reading his stuff.
