grabbing the magazines

Well I kinda started a new tradition last year. Sometime last year I stopped off at a gas station in London Kentucky and I noticed watchtower and awake magazines laying on a brochure rack, and I promptly removed them. Well yesterday on the way up to Dayton I stopped off at that station again, and sure enough there were 6 magazines there, 3 watchtowers and 3 awakes. I removed them again. Everytime I pass by that station I remove the magazines. Now im in a dilemma, should I burn them or wipe my butt on them-LOL

I thought about leaving some kinda note for the JW there for them to see when they drop off the mags there, either that or some kinda anti-witnessing tract.

That was my good deed yesterday, and hopefully at least one family has been spared from their destructive doctrine.

I would shred them with my cross-cut shredder.

You're right Roybatty, so should I leave some kinda flyer in their place, or just let them hope that an "interested one" picked them up?

ha ha, ya, i used to pick up the mags that i found lying on the street when i was a wit. i would usually recycle them somehow, doctors office etc (hey, easy placement!). now i pick them up so i can be sure they end up in the nearest trash can.

or you could carry labels around with you that say www.jehovahs-witness.com on them, and stick 'em on the rags.

and they probably counting them as placements - sis on them - I'd say leave a note

    JunctionGuy,

What tetrapod said: Print out a few labels with www.freeminds.org, and www.jehovahs-witness.com and stick them on the mags. In this way you may discourage the person who leaves them. And if any newbie picks them up they'll probably go to one of those sites for more info on the WTS.

I have notified them to stop putting them in my workplace since it is against our rules here to have religious material and all mags are incinerated in our trash. I believe they are complying with that, but I can't monitor it closely.

Removing the mags is good in cases when they aren't replaced. If they're just coming back and leaving more, not much point in it, IMO. That just lines the pockets of the WTS with the profits from the replacement mags. You're also helping some pioneer get his/her time count and magazine placement count up for the month.

IMO, putting a label with a website on it isn't going to do much because people aren't inclined to go home to their computer and look up the website. They're likely reading the mag just to pass the time while waiting for something and don't have a computer handy. You need something that's going to be understandable on face value rather than requiring the reader to research its meaning.

IMO the best thing to do is to get neon stickers that say "WARNING--THIS IS MIND CONTROL CULT LITERATURE" is the best way to go.

Or leave them there and print out some of the anit jw literature that is out there. The Nazi stuff would be good, or how many children die, what is a cult, etc..... There is also some good pages that have titles like- Danger at your door?, Join the WT and you Can't....., the list is endless. The dub who is putting them there may see them and give up or actually read it themselves (not likely but you never know). Or leave a stack of the 'cease & desist' letter with a header in bold red print -How to get on the Jehovah Witness Do Not Call List. carla
