Doesn't a press release have to be done in the name of a company or org or something? How does one go about this? Send it to the editor, what's going on in religion page? I have contacted national and local tv on their sites in the "story suggestions" before, concerning the pedophile problem. Only one guy responded, a local tv station thought I was spamming. Wrote him back that I was just a concerned citizen. carla

    OK folks, this is cool.

We've got volunteers who are going to customize and distribute the Press Release above in the following areas:

British Columbia, Canada; Australia; New York area, USA.

I'm going to be sending it in the Birmingham and Huntsville areas of Alabama, USA.

Any more volunteers for other areas of the US or world?

Thanks!!!!!!!! And we'll keep you posted on any results.

I would love to participate--I think it's an awsome idea! Is there going to be a convention at Arco Arena in Sacramento, California?

    Hi love2Bworldly,

Sure you can participate. Look at the following thread:

    http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/91689/1.ashx

blondie has posted the convention schedule.

If you want to help, PM me with your email and I'll send you the Word document of the PR. You can edit it to include the correct date, convention location, etc. Send it to TV and newspaper outlets in the area around the convention you want to target. Let me know which ones you will target, so I can keep up with a list of which one's we've targeted and which are left.

    Thanks!!!!!!!

I think this is a great idea, and would like to be involved. Having worked in marketing for years and having sent out many press releases, may I suggest softening the release a bit? I don't wish to soften the message, but more the tone. Including statements such as, "...CONVINCED THAT THE OTHER SIX BILLION HUMANS ON THIS PLANET WILL BE MURDERED BY GOD VERY SHORTLY..." in my opinion may come off as having a bitter, extremist tone--as opposed to an unbiased, genuine release of information. Not only might this decrease our chances of it's being considered, but--assuming some such statements may actually be used by the media--any Witness reading it will only be irritated by it. Granted most Witnesses may be irritated by anything negative, but to those already beginning to question, a genuine, itelligent tone may have a better effect.

    Carla:

I was wondering the same thing.
