Just fantastic Seeker4. You put everything so well. I found the points about revising their earlier publications rang such alarm bells. I wish my family could just have 5 minutes of free thought - and then they would have to see what a sham this religion is.

I'm going to keep a copy of your letter and read it whenever I'm feeling doubtful or confused or scared.

And also a brilliant point that life is for living to the very best and fullest now - what a tragedy to wait for something that in all probability isn't going to happen. I'd like to think we got another life after this one (although certainly not on a paradise earth - that never ever appealed to me!), but all the evidence is to the contrary.

And finally - your point about rather having questions you can't answer than questions you can't ask was truly "thought provoking". Remember that over used phrase and all the time we weren't really "thinking" at all.

Thank you so much - your thoughts and reasoning after just one reading have stuck in my mind better than anything I learnt as a witness. I'm starting to realise now that I wasn't completely stupid when I'd read one of the very long sentences in the watchtower and just not be able to understand at all. Sense cannot be pulled out of Nonsense, no matter how hard you tug.

Fabulous letter, Seeker4! It will be interesting to see how they respond (if at all).

I'm sure you'll keep us posted?

    Wow!!!

That was a great letter. I'm impressed by how much time and effort yo uput into it.

If the body I was on got that letter we'd file it and move on. I wouldn't even risk a lawsuit.

Seeker4 Read this last night...damn thats good! Since I faded out I don't know if I'll ever get a chance to write a similar letter. But I might yet get the chance, my old man tells me that they are asking about me... after what, 6,7 years? I think they want to know if I've D/A myself. Shit yeah! But I won't give them the satisfaction of me admitting that. Why? Dissaociate from what? Just cuz I don't go the KH? Nah, I just LEFT. Association has nothing to do with it. Hey, come out clubbin' with me and we can associate LOL

Still if I am in a position to do this I will use some of your points... with your permission of course!

I just wonder, if this letter will go around to the others as you have asked? Or if others might take notice esp in Bethel etc. I guess I know the answer already.... 'cone of silence'

    Mos,

Feel free to use anything from the letter that might be helpful.

I wrote the letter about two months ago, and have not heard a word from any of the elders.

Did they all get a copy? I have no idea. My elder/friend may have lied to me, that he would make sure everyone got a copy. Perhaps I'll never know. Time will tell.

    I wish you well.

    Seeker,

Your letter took my breath away. Thank You !

And I'm sure, because it was politely 'in-their-face'...they got your point: "Don't Tread on me...!" When you in all confidence inform them what the consequences of their actions will be and that they will be very personally expensive, you've successfully put the ball in their court.

I am in a similar situation as Sirona, I've been away from meetings a little longer than 6 years. I've recently been getting a lot of attention from 'well-meaning' JW's trying to 'save' my evil arse. Guilt trips..."What will your mother think when she's resurrected and...you're not there ?" And on and on...it's gone from un-official shuning, to stand-offishness, to a little acceptance and now...questioning 'why' I am choosing to make Jah happy. Very serious questioning from an Elder (uncle) from the patriarch of the family and others.

If it's all right, I would like to use some of your points, customized for my situation, if and when they try to DA/DF me ?

    Keep us informed, please ?

    Thanks, Rabbit

    WOW! AWESOME! COURAGEOUS!

Somewhere there is a Theocratic Ministry School Teacher who is beaming with pride! Well thought out, articulate, concise, honest, witty, respectful, kind, yet properly sarcastic.

If I can have your permission to plagerize should the need every present itself - I will gladly memorize a few of those responses!

Please follow up the story by posting their response to you.
