The flip side to eBay is that if you pitch the starting price too high they think you're just out to make a heap of money, whereas if they want to throw away silly-money on something that started slightly lower, then that's their business.

I wouldn't start it at more than £10, if I were you.

(also bear in mind overseas bidders - £10 = $16, whereas a starting bid of £5/$8 might look more reasonable - at the end of the day, market forces will dictate if it sells or not)

    Sirona:

Please contact Michael Castro of Providence, RI - USA. His phone number is 401-467-3744. Mike has been collecting old WTS materials for over three decades and amongst the small group of WTS collectors nationwide, he is considered one of the best. Mike's literature has been on display at the annual meetings at the Stanley Theatre in NJ and also at Bethel.

Mike has mademany trips into the Allegheny and Lehigh county areas of PA and visited with many septa & octogenarian bible students who were from the old days and he acquired a lot of literature and made many old friends. Many left their collections to Mike after passing, thus, he has a plethora of rare and unique photos, articles, etc.

I know he will be interested, so tell him "Mario" asked you to call.

I could be interested. Would the Finished Mystery make a good baptism present for my friends baptism next month. Does either of these books help to expose the Watchtower?

Funny that you should mention this, Sirona. As it happens, I recently acquired a 1926 copy of Deliverance, by Rutherford. It was in my grandmother's house when she died. I'm not sure where she got it, nor why she had it, as it's not the sort of thing she liked to read. Part of me wanted to burn the danged thing, part wanted to ebay it, and a crazy part actually considered reading it.

I suppose if a market exists for such things, I may as well try selling it, as it's not an heirloom. Good luck to you with your own sale, Sirona- hope you get a fair price for your books.

    What I do... (and I'm a powerseller )

Type the title into the "search".... to the right of the screen is "sort by:" click "highest priced first"... then to the left click "completed items" and "show items"... when that page comes up, look for your exact item (it's almost always there) ... use that auction as a guide (description, price, title, catagory). I copy and paste everything and then change a few things. It's a big no-no to copy other people's auctions, so you need to change things around a little. Be sure and use the one that brought the most money. The seller obviously knew what they were doing!

Have fun! I just recently sold over $1000 worth of old literature.

The thing is, I pulled these books off the shelf and realised that they're not in very good condition. Both books have their covers, but the covers are not attached! LOL

They'd be of use to someone who wants them for content - as in - an authentic old watchtower publication. The Finished Mystery has some pretty funny quotes in, including the 1874 = christs presence thing and 1914 = armageddon.
