When I was a kid, I remember my dad having a difficult time finding plywood for the stage that wasn't made with horses blood in the glue.

It's amazing how legalistic they can be, they do like splitting hair and acting as if they are still labouring under the mosaic law. As Bas mentions there is always some blood left in meat after slaughter anyway.
(do beetles have blood?)
A question that can be answered by the Bible itself. Since grasshoppers are kosher in Leviticus (and a favourite of John the Baptist), and you don't need to bleed them, it's pretty obvious that insects have no blood (in the Biblical sense) to worry about. As for cochineal beetles, isnt the dye contained in their shells?
Talk about "straining at the gnat, while swallowing the camel...."

Yes, Stephanus the red dye of those beetles is made from their "shells". This just shows you how demented the dubs can get. When I was in the org. there was some cacamamie anouncement made that we had to get rid of all the relic symbols we might own like coats of arms on buttons and other related insignia because it was all linked to demonism or some such malarky. So here we were going through our button boxes and sewing kits to see if we had unknowingly brought some contaminated thingamajig into our Christian homes. I can't believe how simple it was to get the rank and file doing stuff like this. It was one of my first clues that something really off the wall was going on at the top. People were getting rid of valuable family crests even if they were handed down in the family from way back. Something really scary about the fact that any one who challenged these bizzare announcements was regarded as questioning God or not being in submission to the faithful and descreet slave.... We were warned about Hershey candy bars too..full of blood. I think some whack-job in Bethel was paid to sit around and think up this shite just so the Borgites could have a laugh tracking the letters they would get from the dupes who bought into the latest scam.
Few make any effort to get all the blood out of meat. Ever heard of a dub soaking and salting meat, like Jews do to take care of residual blood?

That's what I was accused of when I brought the UN/NGO requirements to the attention of the local BOE.
What a bunch of brain-dead robots. They aren't allowed to think for themself or ask questions like Jesus' disciples did and if they do, they are labeled 'apostate' and discarded like so much trash. I'm glad to be free from the demonised cult.
OH YEAH!
More senseless drible from the JW people trying to get one up on everyone else..it made them feel so important if people listened to them(Other JW's.)
I remember the Catfish bait that had "Blood" in it to attract the catfish..it worked too! We caught some big catfish!
Then someone started talking about how it was made with blood in it. They thought they were really telling us something....
Well next time we went camping we bought some more!..I kept waiting for the Blood patrol to come and arrest us!..lol
I sure hate the thought that I would be kept out of "Paradise" because I fed a catfish bait with blood in it!
What a evil sin! There were two other couples that went with us (JW's) and they used it too. Actually they are still witnesses..how sad that they are doing all that zealous work only to find they won't be in Paradise because they fed a bait with blood in it to fish!..
Snoozy..of the evil fed blood to the fish class..
I am totaly amazed at all the post about the little shite the Borg members have been worried about in the past. Unreal.
KatieKitten - I remember the cochineal thing. ALSO we were not allowed MARSHMALLOWS - anyone else remember that?
