My son just went to the hospital

He has been on several pain medications for his back, he is disabled with it. He was seeing people outside his house that wasn't there. He saw an alien in his closet and was talking to it and trying to help it cool down, he was hot himself. He was trying to get his wife to acknowledge that it was there and he wasn't crazy. Yesterday he had an incident where his arm went numb. His blood pressure was high. We think maybe he had a stroke but so far they haven't made a diagnosis. I was mowing the yard and didn't know what was going on as his sister was leaving to go to the hospital and my wife also left and came back and informed me of what was going on. I will be going in a few minutes after I cool down from the mowing and change clothes. Give him your good thoughts. Thanks.

Hopefully everthing will work out for the best.

Do you monitor his pain medication or does he do it himself? I've known quite a few people with cronic pain who abused their pills and became addicted. It sounds like he's taking too many at once.

Thanks for your good wishes. Everything is OK. I think he may have overdone his pain medication. He is back home now and is OK. My buddy next door said he had it happen to him, he saw a dog in his house, and it was real to him. Sometimes medications can do scarry things. I think he has been over dosing for some time now and his wife is trying to control it a little better. Anyway things are back to normal now, thank goodness. He is resting and is mentally back to himself.

Pain meds are tricky things. Depending on which ones he is taking it sometimes interferes with short term memory. So he may simply have forgotten he had just taken them a little while earlier. He may want to put a check off sheet on the refridgerator or something, so if he isn't sure, he can make sure he has taken / not taken his meds.

I hope that is all it was Ken, the pills doing that. That happened to me when I was 17 , I had foot surgery and was taking Percodan....I saw my Mother in my room and was talking to her, then she disappeared. I also saw an elephant walking past my bedroom window....lol.

Well, I didnt take anymore Percodan, but my Mom stashed it for her later use......
