UPDATE 1530 GMT: The news from The Oval is that it's still gloomy
and at this time of the year in England the chances are it will
only get darker.
There is no wind to blow the clouds away and this means that the
clouds just hang about.
There is an air of drizzle but no rain is actually falling
The crowd, as you might expect, have mixed feelings. They want to
see more cricket but they also understand that the longer the
players stay off the brighter England's chances are of winning the
Ashes
Rarely have so many people paid so much money and been glad not to
see anything!...that was the news I woke up to. The last line made me chuckle.
One fine day (or drizzly day, more likely) I'm gonna catch me a cricket match for real...

well ive watched every day this summer...
and now today...the most important day ever for english cricket....i have to go to school..
i should be back for the nail-biting finish though...
and all results are still possible
and may i say that regardless of who wins..i have never experienced a summer like it...and probably never will again..

I feel it is my duty to inform you (even as was informed), Dark Knight, that the correct term, at least in cricket, is "Pommie Bastards."
And, being correct sporting terminology, should in no wise be considered derogatory. It must be an oversight that no one has yet informed me of the correct term for the Aussies/Ozzies.
Love you all! Enjoy the big day!

yeah ballsy they are at tea...
when they come back there will be just under 50 overs left and ozzies need to get last 3 england wickets and then the runs which will probably be in excess of 250...
it is still possible

I think if they bat for another 15 or so overs they'll be safe. So nice to see Warney get hit for a couple of sixes and dropping that catch!
Having said that, it's a shame he won't be touring here again. He's one of the all-time greats.
