Just Because You "Feel" Something Is True Doesn't Make It So

There is one instance in which you should never ignore your gut feeling:

When you sense danger NEVER ignore it, even if you think you will look stupid. Better to look stupid!!

Terry, I think you're ignoring instinct that is not learned.

Personally, I don't think that he did any of it. Jackson himself even confirmed that the kids often slept in his bed, but his idea of sharing a bed with someone is apparently different from the average, sex-crazed American whose mind states permanently in the gutter.

The childrens' parents definitely had an agenda. They knew that Jackson was repeatedly 'accused' of child molestation, yet they still allowed their children to spend the night with him? They knew exactly what they were doing. They knew that many parents in the past were paid off and they wanted a piece of the pie. Funny how former parents basically sold their kids souls for Jackson's cash rather than pushing for prosecution (if they believed that he did anything to their kids in the first place).

If anyone should be on trial here, it should be the parents. People are judging Jackson by their standards of what's normal and acceptable. Obviously, Jackson has his own standards (to put things mildly). Just because someone has a different idea of the societal norm doesn't mean that he or she's a child molester.

I'm with ya Min. As in other threads the constant postings of some is disturbing. When shown statistics and facts to the contrary of their stated position, and they still fall back on "Well if it makes me FEEL safer I'm all for it" drives EvilForce over the edge. So they don't really care about reality. They only care about how it makes them FEEL. The topic can be MJ, gun control, cameras in public, etc.... etc. For alot of folks it doesnt' matter, they know how they feel or would like to feel, and the facts be damned.

I think Michael Jackson is weird and very odd person!

Do I think he is guilty by my Feelings? Yes. Do I think he should be locked up because I feel that way ? NO! Just because I feel something doesn't make it true.

Yes, I think the parents should be blamed for this. I think they are using their own child!

However, after reading about the case. I know there was not enough evidence to put Michael behind bars for molesting children. Although what about the "The Boy" book? What about that? Is it right to have under aged nude boys pornographically posing? Is that ok?

I think people here are making their own judgment on is it morally right. There are Laws saying it is not a crime to share and sleep in the same bed. People base alot on Morals.

Think about it.... Who is it to say Stealing is a Crime if it were not morals to back it up. Or killing? Who can give me that answer not based upon morals?

We can't go just by gut feeling and reach decisions without any concrete information especially where it concerns other people because they may well be wrong, but we can use them as possibilities that to are be further investigated. Sometimes gut feelings are right.

    Good topic.

I am with Min on this instance. So many people, usually women I have known , {admitedly dubs] claim to have an "instinct" for knowing people and judging them accordingly. I have known them be spectacularly wrong but that does not stop them. Of course it possible to be peceptive but then one is reading give away signs by observation - I guess that is different because one could explain why the judgement was formed.

    So many people too, adopt beliefs in the supernatural, without any evidence at all ,simply because it feels right. No disrespect to anybody here, but I could not do that. {"Won't get Fooled Again", to quote the Who}

Re MJ, , I suspect that preconception had a lot to do with it. I believe he was probably guilty because there were first hand testimonies of abuse, and people have been convicted on similar evidence. I was struck by an interview with the jury. An elderly grannie said she was decided by the conduct of the victims mother "Dont snap your fingers at me lady!' Is that really objective judgement, or a gut feeling?

We should approach an argument or a belief in a much more logical analytical manner, than the way we chose what to have for dinner.

Of course this is nothing new.
