Realistically, no. In fact, alienation of affection as a cause of action doesn't exist anymore in the realm of adultery due to it being so commonplace. How about suing for fraud to get donations back?

No because it is a volunteer organization if you don't like the rules you get out. This is how the legal teem wins almost all the suits against them. They say they havn't made the followers do anything since everyone has the free will to leave.

    Sky,

There are way to get around this, and a good lawyer can skillfully do this, in fact it could be like a game of chess, you file a suit anticipating thier reaction and then use that reaction to file another suit, thus having it well documented.

    Is slander a possibility?

BTW, who was the poster here who sued Scientology and won 8.5 million dollars?

What you could do with is some smart non jw kid suing the WTS society for loss of jw parents due to difference in beliefs. They could sue for the costs of the state providing foster parents and then for the emotional trauma that will affect their future life and earnings. To finish off the kid could claim costs and file for legal parental divorce.

    OK I'm just kidding.

OK, what the Scientologists did to Wollersheim is more extreme than what any JW goes through. I don't think he posts here, does he?

http://www.gerryarmstrong.org/50grand/legal/wollersheim/212cal.app.3d.872.html The WTBTS are far more subtle manipulators.

    Q,

I think the WT policy of DFn mere children and thier council found in the WT to parents of DF'd minors may be used in a court of law to show the extreme cruelty these children face. Maybe a person who has suffered severly when they got older could find a good legal defence team to strike a severe blow and get a large settlement in the process.

I live in the bay area of California and am aware of a situation where the elders DF a young girl (14) who was molested by a ministerial servant in her congregation, even though the parents faithfully went to the elders first instead of the police. The elders DF'd her and the WT service department sanctioned it. I think this case alone could be bring a huge lawsuit.

Besides suing, there are other laws, if enforced, would make the elders toe the line.

More than once here I have heard described how a member of a Hospital Liaison Committee was privy to private medical information. There are privacy laws, and I think such elders should be reprimanded or charged if they break them.

At the very least, it would curtail the bullying that ailing Jehovah's Witnesses face now.
