    my initial reaction was it sounded as if what could go wrong would go wrong..it was almost as if you knew as you were reading what was going to happen next

    that being said..if it is true then it is very very sad

    inday there are a number of people here who have been through similar experiences and who will be able to help you if that be your desire

    we are not uncaring but we are not gullible either

    if you are genuine then stick around and we will get to know you

    if you are a hoaxer..preying on the sympathies of other members of this forum then shame on you

    Everyone's location is private. I was just making an observation based upon some comments on the thread. Personally I think that Inday is telling the truth and she grew up in an asian country and now lives somewhere else.

    Inday: I'm glad you found this board. Welcome! Keep posting. I hope things improve for you.

    I would have posted earlier but the server went down.

    Yeah good point razor I will lighten up and listen. I guess I've spent a good while in Asia and it just sounded too pat.

    Apologies to I

    Hello and Welcome Inday

    I hope you find it friendly enough here to keep posting your feelings and thoughts. Most of us here have sad stories to tell because of being Jehovah's Witnesses or being with them. We do look forward to hearing from you.

    I guess the thing we should be mindful of, especially regarding those who do not own English as their FIRST language, some things can be lost in the translation.

    Ray,

    You are an amazing person (not a new observation BTW but I had to say it because of this thread) and as usual, so insightful. As I re-read the post that I quoted this from, I thought of how many posters use English as their first language---and still have some difficulty in expressing how they feel in certain circumstances. (ME!) *I* know exactly what I'm trying to say, but often it does not come out on "paper" the same way that I meant it to.

    I understand the whole "troll" aspect, having been duped by them here myself, and having given my honest advice or sympathy to someone who isn't as truthful as we would like---but I don't feel as if *I* am the "victim" (for lack of a better word) when I am "taken in" by them. I see it as more of their" problem and not ours or mine.

    Posters here have every right to come to their own conclusions and I'm not putting them down for having "gut" instincts on this. Had I been more "instinctive" myself at one time 30 long years ago---I wouldn't be here today as an exJW! We just need some balance---or perhapes a bit more time with what is written in order to make a clearer assumption on certain things.

    I hope I'm making sense, I'm on my first coffee of the day and still half asleep! I just want to see that every new poster feels comfortable with us and comfortable enough to share themselves with us.

    We all had to make our first post and had hoped that we sounded "okay", right?

    hugs to Inday and hugs to Ray,

    Annie

    I love smart people; spot on Rayzor (how the hell are you by the way?), I'd of initially assumed she was Indian, purely through the details of the story. However, the later listing of religions;

    catholic church/moslims/assemblies of God/pentacostal church

    .... kinda narrows it down a bit...

    I've got experience in dealing with writers of English as a second language, and there's nothing untoward about her use of English and indeed there are some errors which attest to its authenticity that a native English person would be very unlikely to make.

    Inday, welcome here, you say;

    I have doubs because I see elders do so many things not good. But I do not know what else. The other religion are also not good. So many bad people there in the catholic church or the moslims. I also do not like the assemblies of God or pentacostal church.

    Can you see a pattern?

    All the religions you mention have problems. Even Jehovah's Witnesses, who like to talk like they are different to other religions, are actually the same. The problems are often with those in positions of power within a religion.

    Have you wondered why god would let men do this?

    Some people think that organsised religion is a tool used by men to control other men, and has little to do with god.

    Jesus talked about love, how we should love each other. He hated the religious leaders of the time he lived in because they were like the ones we see today; corrupt men looking for power over other men.

    If you wish to have a personal relationship with god, you can have it. It does not go through Imans, Priests, Elders or Ministers. It goes straight from god to you.

    Stop feeling guilty. When Jesus came across a mob who were about to kill a woman for adultery, he asked for the one without sin to cast the first stone. No one did and the woman's life was saved. Think about that; EVERYONE does things they wish they hadn't done, but did you hurt anyone other than maybe yourself?

    Is god going to kill a baby inside you because of what you did if Jesus stops people killing a woman like in the story in the Bible?

    The answer is no. Anyone who tries to tell you otherwise is trying to control your behaviour and gain power over you.
