It started out as just a walk ...

... and it turned into an animal rescue.

It was a beautiful day here, so after supper my wife, two kids and myself decided to take a stroll in the woods nearby. You have to drive a ways up an out-of-the-way road to get to this trail and we had a great time on our walk. So we're headed back to the car and hear a faint, "Meow". We hear it and Mrs. Kwin goes to investigate. She walks about 50 feet from where we were, and a kitten runs past her, then another. They can't be 8 weeks old.

So we took them home. They are clean and are litter trained so obviously they were dumped. I don't get why people won't take the time to post a FREE ad in the newspaper but instead decide to dump a few helpless kittens in the woods, with no food or training from their mothers on how to fend on their own.

This happens every winter here in Massachusetts - I guess people don't get it that little baby kittens shouldn't be running around in a foot of snow!!!

I ended up with 2 kittens this winter and 2 last winter...now have 6 cats! Sheesh!

I hate people who do the dump and run on the little furrbabies.

You may be able to get SNAP certificates from the SPCA which gives you half or sometimes free spay/neuter for your new family members because they were dumped and are strays.

Poor kitties....do not send them to my house or my husband will kill me!

It has happened to me. Find them good homes. I feel that this is really what God would want us to do.

Why the heck don't people get their animals neutered, dang it? All of my cats through the years have been abandoned, unwanted, homeless beasties. Because I love my little buddies, I take them to the vet's as soon as they're old enough and get them fixed, so they won't be producing more unwanted kitties.

Without your kindly intervention those kitties would have likely been a coyote's or racoon's lunch.

I wonder if people think the kitties will grow up and become bobcats or something? Don't they realize it's a death sentence?
