    Welcome, X.

However, be very wary of this religion. Once you join you are stuck for life. All your associations, friends, family will be expected to join or you will be told to steer clear of them just as your friend is limiting his contact with you. Should you see through some of the doctrines later in life and change your mind, you will be treated as garbage and will lose all your witness friends, family, etc.

Stay for a while and read some of the posts and profiles of the members here. The witnesses cost me everything I ever loved when I broke free from them in 1993. I have lost my family and even my own mother and father will not have anything to do with me. Am I evil? No. I just don't believe in the doctrines of the witnesses any more and for that, I have been banished from my family.

Be careful, read everything you can get your hands on about the witnesses, Google the Watchtower and Jehovahs Witnesses. Look into their history, it's important and don't let them tell you it is not. This religion has a shaky past and that's why they don't want you to research it. Thousands have died because of their errant medical doctrines; vaccinations, banned blood transfusions, etc. Their history is also quite racist. Look it up! Don't ruin your life...

How old are you? Is this friend someone that you are romantically attracted to? I think your parents will insist that you be 18 before you decide this.

Becoming a JW is a very, very serious thing.

You will be told to limit or avoid contact with your family and non-JW friends.

You will be taught that unless your friends and family become JWs they will die forever in the near future.

You will not be allowed to have a blood transfusion even if you might die.

You will not be able to celebrate birthdays or any holidays.

And that is just to start.

How much do you know about the Bible now?

We are a variety of people, some who still are JWs, some who are no longer, and some who have spouses who are.

If you have any questions about JWs, feel free to ask and we will try to give both sides.

The JWs are a cultish religion and you should carefully examine to see what they really are and stand for. The place is full of whopping big lies and cunning manipulation, watch your every step.

Please beware, I cannot stress this enough. Please be sure to spend much time on this and other websites finding out the facts before you agree to any further involvement. Your future happiness is in great danger. There are a few books you must read, then you can make up your own mind, armed wth all the facts. Friends on this site can offer advice.

By the way, where are my manners, A Warm Welcome.

Be thankful you found this site. Please listen to what is said here. But more important, research and come to your own conclusions. What is your relationship with this person? How long have you been friends?

I can only speak for myself. I grew up being a JW. It was dictated to me who could and couldn't be my friends. Which, of course, means anyone not a JW cannot be your friend. JWs tear apart families and messes with people's minds. They are encouraged not to go to college. They want to direct your life in all aspects. I could go on and on. Please, don't get sucked into their world. Educate yourself---it's going to be a rough road! Come visit here often!

    Hey X,

I glad that you came to this website, first of all, It was very important to here what the others had to say,but the truth of the matter is this is what Jehovah's organization offers:

    1). Who is: Jehovah, Jesus?

2). The answer to "why do I exist?"

3). Why does God allow suffering?

4). Is there hope for mankind?

5). Why are so many people against Jehovah's Witness'?

    6). What is "paradise?"...

Those who become Jehovah's Witness' can leave at any time, dispite what is said here, were not a Cult and were certainly not dangerous.

Were are not brain washed (I should know, I actually learned brain washing techniques in the military, both passive and active).

We have, however and unfortunately made some "non inspired" (by non inspired, I mean none of those who made those predictions said "The Lord told them or Jehovah told them to tell you", predictions as to when the end of the world was to come), However if you read Pastor Chuck Smiths "The End Times" pages 35 & 36, he predicted the end would come in 2006, also LUTHERN, BABTIST, CATHOLICS & the various ADVENTIST groups have also done the same.

Remember, it's all about choices and taking full responsibility for them.

    adonijah,

Welcome, you are no doubt sincere in what you believe. If there several people willing to make statements about the truth of a matter, which should we listen to? I say listen to all and weigh up the evidence. JWs say listen only to me, and do not listen to anyone else, for no one else can be trusted. Yet the Bible commands us to rest everything, and keep testing that we are in the faith. Do you follow this command?

The truth can withstand scrutiny. With the greatest respect, truth does not have to hide behind censorship. Anyone with any intelligence knows that it is the false witness who cannot stand to have read the testiminies of others. The witness who says everyone but me is a liar, without hearing the other side of the story, clearly has much to hide.

I have read a dozen books recently, half of which were published by the watchtower society, and half by non or former JWs. You are not allowed to read these because your god is 12 old men in new york. You put your trust in a hiuman organisation, contrary to scripture. You have surrendered your conscience men, who are your pope. If you had access to the information I have, your conscience would not permit you to remain a JW. To quote an elder who was tasked with researching watchtower history, when I read what was published around the time the organisation was supposedly appointed in 1919, I came to realise that there was not one chance in a thousand that God was directing this organisation.

Every time I study with my local elder, I catch him out in a lie. He has no answer, so tries to change the subject, and refuses to look at the Bible text in context with me. Why? What truths might the Bible and Watchtower publications contain that could threaten JW beliefs? The truth will make you free, what are you afraid of friend?

You are GUILTY of a half truth when you state that "Those who become Jehovah's Witnesses can leave at any time".

Sure, they can leave. What you leave out, is what happens when they do.

You know that if one does leave, they will be accused of "no longer being one of Jehovah's Witnesses".

This will be announced to all the members in the congregation and they are to be treated as if they were disfellowshipped.

That means that everyone is to shun them "treat them as if they no longer exist" and this includes any member of the church, even those who are((( friends or relatives.)))

Straighten up guy, you claim to teach the "truth", try being truthful your self.

All these answers can be found at many churches. The reason people don't like the Witnesses is because they are truly an "Unchristian" organization. They serve a false god they call the Faithful & Discreet Slave. (12 old guys in New York) They worship an organization. They worship Jehovah, their false god. They give Jesus 3rd place behind the other two. They teach that you need the Faithful and Discreet Slave to be a mediator between you and god. Please look at this site for research and these other two as well... Save yourself while you can....do NOT think of them as a harmless religion.
