BTW, my '77 TR7 did not have a synchromesh tranny ... had to be double-clutched, though you could get away with the usual way unless you were downshifting ... hehehe, my ex couldn't drive it and downshift properly (can you say CRUNCH?) ... so we had to change the clutch plate three times in just over a year ... sad to say, we eventually had to sell it and buy another car because he just couldn't get it and it was costing us too much money ... lol
The third time the clutch plate went, the mechanic took him for a test drive, then me ... he asked me why my husband couldn't seem to learn how to drive the car, but I could .... so much for sexist ideas about wymmin drivers.
