That had to be rough, getting kicked out of your home. I just could never understand how parents could do that to their kids. Maybe if you were extremely violent or something, but it just seems so heartless. I hope things are easier on you with the family. I can't remember what you said about them if you did earlier.

One things for sure, having been a witness has made me appreciate the little things in life. I feel like I have so many more options available now, it's great isn't it?

It's good to have friends that are there for us even when we're self righteous and religious nuts. They're the best, aren't they?

    Pierced,

I was humbled and gratified that my husband kindly said, when one of my in-laws tried to give me a bit of grief over my impending departure, "Well, Brenda's always been a truth seeker" and left it at that. He is VERY happy I'm out, and I'm happy to BE out.

Because I was a judgmental b_tch, too! Spend FAR too much time looking askance at everyone ELSE for their behavior instead of recognizing my own flaws...

Hard to get rid of, too. But, like many here, I'm-a-tryin'!

    P,
I think if we don't feel some guilt over our well intentioned self-righteousness, we still have a lot to learn.
What we do now is the important thing. Can't keep beating ourselves up for what was ingrained in us. But we can try to make up for it!
    Hugs for your honesty!!
