Michael Drosnin (the writer) and Eliyahu Ripps (mathematician). Yes, I have read both their books, studied the Hebrew texts and mathematical models they used, as well as other research published, but not in their books. Very interesting. BTW: 2006 - the smallpox comes, and things look dark from now on. So maybe 5555555 is premature?

There are others on the web using these models of "Sequential Skipping."

Odrade, LOL. I suppose then we don't worry about 666?

This sounds like another crackpot author, whenever they make such outlandish claims.

Calculating with the numbers in the Bible? So, which numbers, then, theres like thousands of them. Which ones do you pick out to calculate around with? I never understood why JWs couldn`t see that the numbers they picked out for calculating their way to 1914 was completely arbitrary. Picking out numbers from books of the Bible (books that had little or absolutely nothing to do with each other), and then combining them, is just stupid, and the resulting number will be decided by what you WANT the resulting number to be. To arrive at 1914 they used passages from Daniel (7 "times" since the destruction of Jerusalem), and parts of Revelation and Ezekiel, books that were written at different times and of course by different authors, that may have read eachother, but that were not "hinting" at eachother, and what "the other guy" wrote. It doesn`t say, in the Revelation, go see Daniel asap. The WT focused on THESE biblical passages because it was important for the WT to set the date of the "end of the world" to be sooner rather than later. This was/is of course because people need to believe that it will happen in THEIR lifetime! - Otherwise it wouldn`t be scary, and people wouldn`t come running to the KH. So, let`s see, logically there is no reason why I shouldn`t pick out numbers at random and combining them with eachoter. I`m gonna, right here and now (and I assure that this is "the Truuuuth", and if you don`t believe me, you`re all gonna DIE in a huge, holocaust-like catastrophy, but don`t worry, it`s a long time from now. The end of the world will be in 20 444 a.d.

I arrived, with good reasons, at this number, partly by divine revelation (God and I are really cool), and by intense Bible studying. What I did, was, I took the number 7 "times" from Daniel, applied the "thousand year for a day"-rule from...eh, was it...Genesis? - and arrived at the year 7000. I`m then throwing in 3 1/2 "times" from the Revelation, that`s 1260 days, multiplying it by two (to reach 7 "times" as in Daniel), and applied the "thousand year for a day"-rule), and added that to the year 7000 that I allready have. I`m now in the year 14 000 a.d., and I then add the two fishes and five breads that Jesus made last as food for thousands of people. Thats two fish + five breads= 7, and I apply he "thousand years for a day"-rule, and then arrive at the year 21 000 a-d. But for good reasons (which have to be kept a secret between me an God) I`ll subtract the number of the beast, 666, and I`m now at 20 444.

So run to KH right now!

    One problem Hellrider-

You forget the 5,000 fed, and the number of swine that jumped off the cliff minus the number of shekels that Judas received. Let's throw in the 40 days of rain and the few angels that met Abraham. Okay, so where are we at?

Somebody PLEASE tell me - AHA! 555555555555555555

Thanx Luna but I forgot about the 7 bowls, 10 plagues, 7 churches, and that minus (2 * number_of_tribes), and there we go, we're back to 5555555555. Jason, you're right! I'm waiting on 7/9, bought a new plane today - hell, I won't have to pay for it.

LoL, yes, forgot about Judas silver shekels and the 5000 fed. And you forgot the 40 years in the desert. Anyway, if they rally wanted to find out what the Bible code says, they should put that guy that Russel Crowe plays in the movie "A beatiful mind" on it. I`m sure, if anyone could find it out, it would be him!
