"What does it mean to be spiritually clean?" -WTBTS

Has been ages since I've looked at the WTBTS website, so I thought it was about time, since I knew I could do with a good laugh! I stumbled on this pure gold...

"Have you ever wondered...What it means to be spiritually clean?"...and thought I'd post the link; http://www.watchtower.org/library/rq/index.htm?article=article_09.htm. This particular paragraph caught my attention;

2. Spiritual Cleanness: If we want to serve Jehovah, we cannot hold on to any of the teachings or customs of false religion. We must get out of false religion and not support it in any way. ( 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 ; Revelation 18:4 ) Once we have learned the truth about God, we must be careful not to be misled by people who teach falsehood.— 2 John 10, 11 .

2 John 10,11. 'New World Translation'

8 Look out for yourselves, that YOU do not lose the things we have worked to produce, but that YOU may obtain a full reward. 9 Everyone that pushes ahead and does not remain in the teaching of the Christ does not have God. He that does remain in this teaching is the one that has both the Father and the Son. 10 If anyone comes to YOU and does not bring this teaching, never receive him into YOUR homes or say a greeting to him. 11 For he that says a greeting to him is a sharer in his wicked works.
12 Although I have many things to write YOU , I do not desire to do so with paper and ink, but I am hoping to come to YOU and to speak with YOU face to face, that YOUR joy may be in full measure.

I couldn't help but feel a bit paranoid, I think they mean us bad 'postate' peoplehehe. frog

Well shit, here I thought I was hanging with some spiritually pure, upright believers! Oh what I have gotten myself into?

I think I kinda like my "wicked works" and will continue to prefect them! I might even come up with some new ones. I bet I can even find a pretty good "reward"!!!

The watchtower is smarter than I thought! they made a good point there "we cannot hold on to any of the teachings or customs of false religion. We must get out of false religion and not support it in any way."

I just wish the watchtower would stop talking about themselves!

While I might think of myself as an ex-JW, I have decided that apostate does not apply. For me, that would mean fighting against beliefs and behavior patterned after Christ. That is not what I find objectionable in the WTS. It is their going beyond what Christ said.

Blondie I hear you - Christ came to fulfill the law (600+) and yet the witnesses have overstepped again and put in their own dos & don'ts - their own little law. They've extended from the original two commandments of Love.

I've been stripping naked every morning and rubbing myself with a New World Translation and Watchtowers! I wonder if I've been doing my Air Bath's wrong too!!!

It's the typical propaganda for internal consumption by the naive that they already have in their pockets, an enlightened person knows well who is teaching falsehoods and thus should not be accepted in people's homes, the failed dates, the sole channel priviledge, the needlessness for charity, etc
