In my JC meeting I kept on at the elders about Love. That there was no love being shown in the congregations & even toward me on how they were dealing with the whole situation & towards my mother. I mentioned that there were only 2 commandments given to us - 1. to love God & 2. to love our neighbour. I

n John 13:35 "by this all will know that you are my deciples if you have love amongst yourselves. I expressed my concerns that the witness faith had seemed to forget this. The elders got very deffensive. The one even went on to say that "love is not that important" but we must stick to things like neutraility & then went on to describe in great detail that it's our unity and neutrality that stick out.....I remember saying again that Jesus said it would be love, not neutrality. This brother again went on about how we are all unified 'cos we all study the same publications at the same time....What other religion does this.......and all other religions fought against each other in world war 1 & 2........

Shame I think he totally missed the point.

If one claims to follow Jesus christ then surely he must realise that Jesus was the embodiment of Love.

You are right LouBelle there is no love in this org and that's a sure sign that they are not the true religion operating at the end of times as they claim, I am surprised why the dubs can't see something as obvious as this, and that elder's reply is really interesting it shows that they haven't got a clue.

For me it was one of the first things that I noticed, the coldness. In fact it's tough but if they want to be called the true religion they must be willing to make big sacrifices, the org for the R & F and the R & F between them and there is nothing going on in this respect.

yes i had this conversation many times with people and used to emphasize it from the platform..

jesus did not say that the sign of the true religion is that they dont fight with each other...(there are other religions who are consciencious objectors)

he said that it was love for each other

and love is easy to show when things are going well..but when there are problems that is when true love is revealed..sadly amongst jws they think that because they wouldnt fight against another witness from another country in a time of war..they have the right to fight with them in the hall, in elders meetings, on the football field, in the family, in branches, on the gb, and in just about any damn place they please other than on the battlefield...and to kill them in so many ways by unchristian unbiblical inhumane judicial rulings

Just another example of witlesses emphasis on the b0rganization. Whatever da b0rg says is what's good ... nevermind what Jesus said! Just shows who the truly leaders of the so-called 0ne true religion are. What do I care if other dubs won't go to war against me ... I'd rather they come running when my car breaks down and give me a lift!

It's amazing how far they can go to pervert the truth, the GB has lead the jws into thinking that christian love consists in just not being destructive to one another whereas it's a case of being constructive to one another of helping when necessary.

Amazing how they could give the definition of each type of love - give the greek word and what it means and how to display it, but when it came to pracitising what you preach, suddenly there was nothing.

What got to me is that I did try, I'd help the old dears, give lifts, throw parties & invite everyone, not just friends, go on fieldies, help materially. But not much was reciprocated. Even when I said that I needed help spiritually - they attacked. I gave them the illustration of the lamb that had strayed, where was my so called loving shepherd that would carry me back to the flock on his shoulders.

Well I'm glad they didn't rally around me - I might not have been freed from the borg.

That is THE reason that I could never be a jw ever again. - They all have CONDITIONAL love! They teach conditional love, they encourage conditional love, they can only give conditional love.

That is something I could NEVER be a part of.

Jesus was the embodiment of Love.

Perhaps if Jesus were here right now, he would say to you something along the lines of...

"I am the embodiment of Love, no more or less than you are, dear. I am just aware that I and my Father are One, while you choose to continue to believe God is so tiny that it can be absent and you can be outside of It. Who told you God was so small? Why do you so easily accept disparaging teachings and scriptures? That millions of others do, does not mean you must follow; does it?

Indeed you witness much tragedy and suffering in the world; however, does this mean that the purity of our Source and Sustenance is limited and absent? Or is it that we are just blind to the Kingdom of God which resides within us already? Is it more likely the shortcoming is God's, or ours?

Be still and see that every belief, idea, word and interpretation about God, is nothing more than an abstract thought? Now turn and look at what is seeing all this. Is IT, an abstract? Is it touched or tainted by anything? What is This that is the most close and intimate of your Being? Does this pristine pool of Conscious-awareness have a bottom? Can it be placed in a box as everything else can? What silently sees the judgments, fears and condemnations of the mind? Though it sees it all, is It really any part of the battle of good against evil? Of tribe against tribe? Of gods against devils? Or, is all the drama just as clouds moving across a pure and totally pristine sky?

Go deeper child into That which is closest and most intimate. See if you can find any blemish, boundary or division here that could prevent It from being the very embodiment of Love. Stop reducing God to a thing, deity or object. Then you will have nothing for the mind to grasp and place far away. Discover what is right here, right now. Realize what you really are and have always been. Discover what has no beginning and no end."

I cannot see that not fighting and killing other believers is the sign of a true religion.

Read the OT. Israel was slaughtering and killing like the worst dysfunctional family in Colorady!!
