hmm, its a little depressing (but not tooooo depressing!) that copyright applies at all, where the publisher is guaranteed never to publish the material again, and is probably dying to prevent it ever resurfacing! its not as if they'll ever try to make a profit from, say, "babylon the great has fallen" ever again.....
i'll keep looking into this. meantime, thanks all, for your help

The 'fair dealing' clause allows quoting works for the purpose of critical analysis and review, as well as for parody (using a work to mark fun of that work) and satire (using a work to make fun of something not directly related), though the boundaries can get blurry, and copyright laws vary in different countries.

They tried to intimidate the dubs themselves from using the WTS materials to preach on line by saying that it could infringe on their copyrights I suppose it would affect the sales of the mags and that's what they really care about.
