***Sorry, can't prove it, but I can back you up and say that I heard it three times also. I thought that they might quietly drop that idea but apparently not.***

    Undercover,
I stole that line FROM you on your post! (BAD ANNIE, BAD ANNIE) I meant to PM you about that, LOL!

***They may still say it, but methinks it isn't going to be seen in print a lot anymore.

I got my hands on the new pub, "What Does the Bible Really Teach". Rumor has it that this book will replace the Knowledge book.

From my brief scan, 1919 is noticeably absent. Also I saw no mention of "The Faithful and Discreet Slave" doctrine.***

    CYP,
Gee, you'd think that something of THAT magnitude would be screeched from every possible rooftop, wouldn't ya? Thanks for the info, BTW.

***So he devised a way of interpreting scripture to show that the deceased anointed were resurrected in 1918, that it took Jesus 3 1/4 years from 1914 to clean out heaven so this resurrection could take place. That Jesus (or Jehovah) inspected Christendom and the WTS in 1918 and found only the WTS practicing pure worship although they still celebrated birthdays and Christmas and used the cross on the cover of the WT.

Christendom (and the rest of Babylon the Great) fell supposedly because they were unable to prevail permanently over the WTS and this proved they were rejected by God as his representatives.***

Thanks Blondie! I DO recall reading about this, but I guess it didn't "register" with me as THE MOMENT under discussion, as "proof" that the WTS could consider as "biblical proof".

NOW I'm sounding like a WTS article! Trying to make logical sense out of something that isn't.

***I had a moment of clarity, that I can remember very vividly, where I looked down at the picture in the Rev book and thought that if I wasn't a Witness, this would sound extremely contrived and weird. I squelched this surfacing of indepentant thought under several stifling layers of "I'm just not spirtual enough", "I don't know enough.", and "I need to pray more." What a dumbass.

Is this sort of what you were talking about, Annie? Or did I get it all confused. I do that these days as I haven't looked at a publication or read the Bible in several years now. LOL If I screwed it up, well then.....Nevermind. (in my best Emily Litella voice)***

    Luna2,
I loved your entire post! And yes...it's just the type of post that made me feel better! I began to feel as if I had been sleeping when this was "covered" at the WTS or book study! And I LOVED dear old Emily!!!!

***I might also add they also did not have a "Governing Body" then either. Russell was the GB, then Rutherford, then Knorr up until the 70's.***

    IthinkIsee,
I HAD forgotten that little fact! Thanks!

***It's funny Jesus would pick a group who believed and practiced everything the society NOW condems as pagan and unchristian ain't it?***

    Gumbuddy,
    Isn't THAT a hoot????

    Question for JWs or the WTS;

How could the WTS passed with flying colors and STILL needed to revise-revise-revise and call it "Noo Lite" to be "pleasing to God"?????

Things that make ya go HMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

    hugs and thanks all,

    Annie

    hugs and thanks all,

    Annie

I told ya I always get a woody when ya hug me dammit! Now stop it!

Remember the parable of the 10 virgins who went out to meet the bride. The foolish vigins didn't take enough oil........but the faithful remnant of Jehovah's Witnesses did. What exactly WAS that extra oil they took that christendom didn't take? How the hell were they even able to meet the bridegroom with their oil when their sorry asses were locked up for sedition against the government? Why did they no longer print the book "the finished mystery" if their oil was so damn pure and plentiful?

    Gumby,

Actually the FDS applies that whole virgin thing to the two classes of annointed, the evil slave and the Faithful slave. When the bridegroom delayed, or seemed to delay 1914-18, the evil ones had no holy spirit, oil in recepticles to keep preaching. The faithful had extra oil, god's spirit to do continue doing the preaching work. What alot of self aggrandizing crap.

I say recycle the oil and get a lube.

When any one starts talking about things that happen in the invisible they are tryimg to pull some kind of trick since things that happen in the invisible can not be verified jesus returned invisibly (why not visibly?)and carried out invisible inspections! How does any one know that these are not fairy tales?

Maybe this explains where Rutherford got his information and why he felt he had special knowledge of things unseen or invisible.
