Maybe I missed an early post on the death of Luther, but I just wanted to state that I am a big fan of his music and knowing that I will not ee him again in concert or wait with anticipation his next CD certainly makes me sad.

Luther was not just a singer he was an entertainer and he always turned a concert OUT!

One of the things I liked most about him was his ability to remake a song and compliment it with his smooth, sexy voice and inject his personal style. Nobody does it like he did.

    He will be missed.

One thing that I will miss dearly is his ability to sing about love and romance in a gentlemanly fashion. Although I am a black man, I don't have a lot of feel for black male vocalist who take the music and the words and make it a sex show. He had the capacity to vocalize his romantic feelings as just that, romantic and not overly salacious. He is one of few black males who I would allow in my music collection.

Luther trivia: He wrote the McDonald's jingle 'You deserve a break today...' (Hmm, I wonder how old you have to be to remember that one?) And he was gay.

How do you know he was gay? I know he never married, but gay? Did he ever admit it?
