All I can say is that If I'd had internet access when I was first contacted by Witnesses, I know I would have looked them up and it might have made a difference.

Not only would I have not joined the demon cult, I would have thrown the elder and his misguided butties outta my house who studied me into the lie if internet access had been available back then.

Yes to all of the above. I believe it is primarily because of access to the internet that is bringing in the newbies. Had it not been for internet access I would not be here posting but would be forever tortured by my doubts. When I first came on this site I realized that this was the truth I had been looking for. A way out of the WT prison. I recognized the truth in the posts and was flabbergasted by it. I could not believe there were people who had left the WTS and were happy. It had alway been the Witnesses' story that all who leave were miserable like "weeping and gnashing of teeth". I have never read or heard anything apostate, nor would I have when I was one of Jehovah's Witnesses. I lurked for a long time because of shyness. Some innocents that get on this site unknowingly can be ripped to shreds by the wit of those here.

    I'm happy I found it.

I know it helps those on the way out with the recovery, I used to see people struggle with it for YEARS, now it seems to take maybe a year or two, at least from a theological stadpoint.

For me the main theme of sites like this one, is to help us not feel alone in our feelings.
